Anything that differs from your beliefs is a heresy.

We see suffering on Earth because we are living in a fallen world as fallen people. Rob is an IDIOT !

Oh yeah, You're right. Jesus said if I be lifted up I'll draw SOME men to me… I had been mis-reading it all these years..

Rob Bell is not the heretic; he is orthodox, it’s just that most people are not familiar with the early Church Fathers. It seems clear that those screaming heresy just revel in the idea of people burning in hell. What an astonishing lack of love is apparent when these angry so-called Christians see God, not as He is, but as they are.

Have to say that this whole video is quite amusing on several levels:

1. If Todd Friel does not belong to an apostolic parish (i.e., either Catholic or Orthodox) then he himself – who is calling Rob Bell a heretic – is actually a heretic himself. Evangelicalism is heretical. It is a man-made religion which has its roots in the revivalism of C.G. Finney. Evangelicalism denies many of the teachings of the apostles which were spoken of by the Early Fathers of the Church. So Mr. Friel if you believe in hell and believe that heretics go there forever – you better hope that you are wrong because your Evangelicalism is pure heresy.

2. Todd Friel seems more interested in acting than in offering substantial rebuttal to Patristic Universalism. He is probably a preacher, since he acts very much like the Evangelical preachers under whom I sat when I was a heretical Evangelical myself. You know the kind, it's all about me, my preaching style, my charisma, my authority as pastor, rather than good exegesis of the Scriptures.

3. Does Todd Friel even know the history of Patristic Universalism? Does he understand that it was the foundational teaching of the Christian faith for 500 years until Augustine came along and pretty much torpedoed it?l Does he care. Will Todd do his due diligence and research the Scriptures to see what they say, or will he continue to promote his Evangelical errors?

4. The comments below are………..equally amusing. People pounding their Bibles and declaring that Jesus taught about hell, that hell is real, and that the Bible clearly speaks about hell. Wrong on all counts.
A. Jesus wouldn't have taught about hell because not such concept existed in Jewish theological teaching. Jesus, as an obedient and law-keeping Jew, would have (and did) speak about Hades or Sheol, which correspond with the grave, not with a place of eternal torment. There is no mention of hell in any of the OT books of the Bible (other than the bad translations of Roman Catholic Latin "scholars" which do not correspond with the language in the Bible.)

B. Hell is not real. What I mean by that is the idea of hell as taught by modern man as a place separate from God. Where is this place that God is not? The Psalmist David said "If I make my bed in Sheol (mistranslated "hell" by Latin translators) thou art there." There is no place in the universe that God is not. Yes, there is torment for the wicked, but that torment comes from being in the very presence of God. Those who hate God and love sin will find the presence of Jesus Christ to be a torment, painful in corresponding levels with the sin they loved.

C. And the Bible says nothing about an eternal place of fire called hell. Again, those Latin translators who decided that in order to keep the rabble in line, it would best to weaponize God against them, to present God as ever angry and ready to throw you into the fires of hell. And since 99% of people in Medieval Times could not work, this scheme worked very well, keeping people in a state of obedient fear until Luther couldn't stand it anymore and nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Wittenburg church.

Honestly, folks, while I have to say that Rob Bell does a very poor job of explaining Patristic Universalism, you should really do some reading and studying before you attack. So many of you have no idea what you are talking about and your commentary shows that fact.

Lamentations 3:31 "No one is cast off by the Lord forever" You are the heretic mate. Rob Bell has worked out that Jesus is love but is piss poor at answering you doubting Thomas's, I'm not hahaha. The word hell can not be found once in the original Hebrew and Greek scriptures

nev billett - posted on July 24, 2019 5:40 pm

Your a mouthy chap who thinks he is funny lol. Answer me this: What is the Gospel?. Don't tell me bla bla what you think, tell me what scripture says it is, because I don't think you know where it is defined in the holy Writ. Here's a clue for you: it is only defined once in scripture.

nev billett - posted on July 24, 2019 6:10 pm

How can you clowns preach the gospel when you don't even know what it is hahaha

nev billett - posted on July 24, 2019 6:17 pm

Nearly everyone loves a clown, especially God who loves all

nev billett - posted on July 24, 2019 6:22 pm

Christianity double talk: God loves everybody > God will send most to hell. You are saved by grace alone > you better repent and obey or else

"When God's judgements are in the land men will learn righteousness" Isaiah 26:9 " Mercy triumphs justice" James 2:13 " " One died for all therefor all have died" 2 Corinthians 5:14

Few understand the Word of God, let me demonstrate hahaha. Genesis 1:1 " In the beginning God created the heavens……….. : was He talking about time, or only time? Revelation 1:8 " I am the Beginning" hahaha "For IN (check your Greek) Him all things were created……………..through Him and for Him" Colossians 1:16 Colossians 3:11 "……….Christ is all, and is in all" " For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive" 1 Corinthians 15:22 1Timothy 2:3,4 "for this is good and pleases God our Savior, who WILLS all men to be saved…" Who is going to stop the Sovereign Lord of the universe from doing his will? hell preachers ? hahaha. Me thinks not, " I will accomplish all my will …" Isaiah 46:10 " I have sworn by myself, the words have left my mouth in righteousness and will not be revoked, that to ME every knee will bow and every tongue will swear allegiance" hahahahahahaha So, just after the last tongue swears allegiance to our loving heavenly Father does He give the baddies the chop hahaha so that it brings glory to Him hahaha " every knee, tongue to the GLORY of the Father" ah look it up yourselves oh yea of little study. Gee, wasn't God's justice taken care of on the cross by Christ who died for all, all means everyone dummy, and "reconciled the world to Himself through the blood of the cross" reconciled means made peace stupid lol .google it coz you probably don't own a bible. The God who said do good to your enemies and those that despise you is according to most moron Christians, that's moron not mormon although I certainly include them hahaha , is going to condemn most of humanity of whom He said "there is now no condemnation to any IN Christ Jesus", there's that IN again remember All things were made IN him hahaha "and for Him" not for hell or any other lie you believe. "Jesus Christ IS the Savior of the world.." 1Timothy 4:10 yipee hahaha

nev billett - posted on July 24, 2019 8:29 pm

Don't bother googling "the gospel" because you will only find the definition of the word gospel (good news) not what the good news is because most hard hearted Christian authors and preachers don't know what it is because they read translations of the Hebrew and Greek scriptures or more specifically mistranslations. Just for example let's take the beloved King James , way over 20,000 mistranslations, shock , horror , amazement hahaha. The NIV, RSV and most best selling "English" translations are thwart with mistakes, mind blowing but true and on matters of no small significance.

nev billett - posted on July 24, 2019 8:44 pm

All you hell beleefers have all been sucked in, duped, brainwashed hahaha You don't have the first clue of what you are talking about." Father forgive them for they know not what they do" hahaha. Psst you can NOT find the word hell in the Word of God, not even once, it's just not there. You can find it in English best selling bibles BUT the scriptures weren't written in English , what can this be true? yes unfortunately for nearly everyone it is hahaha.

nev billett - posted on July 24, 2019 8:57 pm

If Jesus had recorded one single word incorrectly in inspired scripture He would be a sinner and we would all be undone because the word sin in English is translated from a word that literally means "to miss the mark" or in other words make a mistake. Yet He reveals Himself as the Word and claims to be sinless, I for one believe Him. If the former be true we can deduce there is no mistakes in the original Hebrew and Greek scripture BUT this does not follow for translations of such.

Jesus 101 for dummies : You are saved BY (undeserved kindness) GRACE (alone) through faith (the means God enlightens you, which itself is a gift of God) and NOT by works, lest any man should boast. And if you boasters declare belief or free will or anything is a part of soteriology (the doctrine of salvation) necessarily applied by yourself let me remind you : " A man can receive NOTHING lest it is given him from heaven" gospel of John
