There's a lot of drinking/driving related deaths here in Montana as well. So many Americans think its still the wild west and we're all cowboys.

If the statistics in this video from the WSJ include factors such as suicide, than it's basically meaningless.

Attention gun issue people.  This report is highly deceptive as it bases its analysis not on total gun deaths per state but gun death RATES.   As such it is a LIE in that it is completely inconsistent with its title, and is probably written by individuals with an anti gun agenda.   This is NOT News reporting.

Note that the number five state is Montana.  Montana has a population of around 990000.  According to the speaker 85% of Montana's gun related deaths were suicides, so with a death rate of 14.5/100000 people, 123 were suicides.   What does that tell us?   That "guns are bad"?   Or that guns are a "disease" producing vector or agent.

Of much more use would be the states with the highest number of gun related deaths by HOMICIDE, but we can't go there because that would reveal where policing is ineffective and more importantly where strict gun laws FAIL to provide the security touted by those who promote the anti second amendment agenda.

WSJ better political news reporting than many, but still with that ol' liberal bias.   The best political news in the paper is usually on the editorial page.

Alaska's rate of gun related suicides have been at or near the top for years while it's rate of gun related homicides have usually ranked outside the top 15 and close to the U.S. average. Louisiana's rate of gun related homicides have been the highest in the nation for the last 25 straight years and 2x the U.S. average in least 15 of those years while it's rate of gun related suicides have usually ranked outside the top 15 during the same period. The FOH with gun death rates by state without breaking down the accidents, homicides, justifides, and suicides .

Say you have a country that has 1000 murders per year, all by firearm. Say this country outlaws guns and disarms its people. This drops deaths by guns to zero. However, murder by knives went from zero to 1000. In this scenario, has the eradication of "gun deaths" been a benefit?

Illinois has a death every two hours but isn’t on the list? Maybe it’s because it’s not a republican state

These stats are BS. States with more suicided. Don't bring guns Into the picture. This is pure liberal logic. This is why one likes democrats. Lies.

How many of these gun related deaths were gunned down by law enforcement? Hmm?

Illinois has 20 times as many gun homicides as Alaska.

Alaska and Montana

Suicide is tragic. Suicide is a mental issue.

Suicide is NOT a violent crime. Crimes are punished. What would be the punishment for suicide?

Tim Hallas - posted on September 30, 2019 2:37 pm

Alaska highers rate.. mostly suicide… I guess if we take away their guns, no one will commit suicide ever again. Take a look at homicide by gun rates, and your top ten list will not be states, but liberal run cities. Chicago had more gun homicides that Alaska, Montana, Nebraska and Kansas combined.
