I used to be brainwashed just like you until I held the hand of my friend who was raped by her step father. She is the reason I believe a woman should have the right to choose HERSELF over a clump of cells.
Another argument to consider is easier access to birth control leads to fewer abortions, yet the right wing or generally conservative people don't want to help fund programs that help women have access to it. Hobby lobby went to court so they wouldn't have to provide birth control to their employees. How many of those employees probably had abortions because they couldn't access birth control? Hundreds? Thousands?
Another argument to consider is that you have to consent to be an organ donor. Doctors can't take your organs once you've died to save a little kids life…..but a woman can't choose her own life over that of a zygote? A corpse has more bodily autonomy than a living breathing woman.
Pregnancy takes a huge toll on a womans body, more often than not she will pee herself when she sneezes for the rest of her life, her stomach becomes a web of stretch marks that she will be self conscious of and shamed (by mostly men) because now she "can't be the perfect woman ". How is it fair to force a woman to essentially ruin her body and self esteem to give birth to a child that wasn't wanted? Its nonsense.
And then there are SO MANY UNWANTED CHILDREN that right wing people seem to forget about. These children a lot of times spend their whole lives in the foster system or overcrowded group homes only to age out of them and become homeless at 18. And yet conservatives want to cut all of the programs that help these kids.
And yet another thing to consider just for shits and gigs, do you call yourself "pro-life" and still consume animal products? Are you calling women who have had abortions "murderers" while holding a bacon cheese burger in one hand and waving a finger on the other? Those animals made it past birth, lived MISERABLY, and then DESPERATELY begged for their lives. How is eating them pro-life? You can't be pro-life and eat meat, it doesn't make sense.
Oh honey. Your hubris is showing.
