Exists such a thing as truth?

Or is everything, consisting of truth, a declaration of personal opinion or choice? Put simply, is reality relative?

For our functions here, let’s put aside the science angle. Yes, you can rest on a couch and not appear moving, but considering that the earth, at the equator, is rotating at 1100 miles per hour, you are, from that point of view, moving– and truly fast. I’m not going over that type of relative.

Let’s restrict ourselves to the more daily questions of truth. Like, does it exist?

When, the answer to this concern was apparent– generally limited to late-night conversations in college dorm room. No longer.
Truth is going through a difficult time.

A white female feels black and represents herself to be so. She feels black, therefore she is black.

A 69 year-old guy in the Netherlands petitions the court to legally modify his age to 49 because that’s how he feels.

And, of course, seemingly daily, guys (and increasingly more kids), with all the chromosomes and body parts that make them noticeably male, state themselves to be female; and women (and significantly more girls) likewise mention themselves to be male. They feel they are one sex or the other; because of that, they are that sex.

And we need to accept that, no matter what the truth is.

In a viral video, a 5-foot, 9-inch American Caucasian male asks students at the University of Washington to acknowledge that he’s Chinese, or six-foot-five, or a woman. Some hesitate, however no one will notify him what he’s saying is not real– that he’s not what he says he is. That would be “recommend”– and “intolerant.”.

This “genuine for you, however not for me” relativism is troubling because it requires the approval of apparent contradictions, rejection of reality, and sound judgment. Instead of changing our lives to the reality, the truth has to change itself to us.

It’s very difficult to live this method, not to discuss it being incredibly unwise. We rely on mind-independent axioms in order to think plainly, to navigate life. Otherwise, we quickly get lost.

There require to be some things that just are– things that hold true. In this way points North for everyone, no matter what anyone occurs to pick or really believe.
