No one knows the toll of the real human cost better than journalist Salena Zito, who wrote in the Washington Post, “What I learned about ‘America First’ in a Pennsylvania steel mill.” U.S. Steel workers who once opposed Japan’s investment now welcome it because “if this deal doesn’t happen, these jobs will be gone.”  She rejects the claim that Americans don’t want manufacturing jobs anymore and are scared of Trump’s tariffs. “There’s a very different feel in the middle of the country. ‘This might pinch now, but this is better not just for my kids, grandchildren — this is better for my country.’” Glenn argues Trump’s tariffs aren’t just policy — they’re a rebellion against managed decline and a high-stakes gamble to restore American self-reliance.

  2. So I’m for the tariffs, as they appear to be really sticking it to China. But on the other hand, the govt needs to slash taxes, regulations and the BS to allow Americans the ability to get business loans and bring those jobs or similar to, back here to the U.S. Not a reason in hell why our electronics, appliances and medicines are all made there. Ridiculous what politicians have done.

  4. I was 19 when NAFTA was implemented. It's the first time I learned my government wants to destroy us. I saw all the factories in my town in Tennessee close. Screw Clinton, Gore, and the globalists.

  7. In 1968 GMC a union-wage paying manufacturer of cars, buses, trucks even locomotives were the USA's largest employer despite never having more that 27 percent of the automotive market. Today, Walmart is our largest employer is Walmart, a mostly minimum wage paying retailer of mostly imported retail goods. Just shows the contrast between then and the globalist present.

The left says only “small factories with a few employees” (while ignoring that there were 70,000+ of them while at the same time pulling out their hair and screaming about govt employees being fired or laid off crying that “these are REAL people”. No shit! Really???? So were all those “few employees” at all those factories of which the LEFTIES have facilitated closing them down.

  21. If you are truly afraid, do this… Ask yourself, what's the worst thing that can happen? We stop buying toxic, cheap Chinese stuff. USA does not support slave labor, communism, etc. we don't want the Chinese buying our land launching I'm launching spy balloons why don't we stop doing trade. Let's have our pharmacy drugs made here for God's sakes. This country is addicted to buying stuff. Get a grip.

  22. U say they didnt care about the middle of the country but you shud come see the border. Not only are there no jobs bcuz they all left just like the middle of the country but weve been ravaged by the cartels and the human trafficking over the last 5 decades. Its a 1/2 punch. Why not come do your show here glenn and highlight that travesty. Its not just middle america thats suffered. The border has been devastated first and longest.

  25. I'm grateful for everything President Trump is doing and stand with him 100% . We as a country have to go through this, and I am thinking about my son and my two granddaughters praying they have a better life. Stay strong people and do a lot of praying 🙏

  26. I lived in Rutherford County, in North Carolina, in the early 2000's . . . an area that used to produce fabric and textiles for the nation, and for export. All those businesses moved to Mexico, and at the time I was living there, unemployment was at 19% . . . the second highest county in the nation! Further east was a major furniture producing area, and they were also losing factories to other countries. When an entire region is dependent on a single industry, the loss of that industry impacts that region – from grocery stores to car sales, home sales, and the tax base for government services!

  27. Steel mills aren’t the only type of manufacturing that is out there and I don’t understand why everyone focuses on them and not all of the manufacturing that’s downstream from these mills. If you don’t have all of the manufacturing downstream then you don’t have the mills.

  30. After hearing the fact of the median income only going up 6k in 23 years got me thinking. Was this part of UN Agenda 2020 (now Agenda 2030 thank you President Trump)? Think about it. Wages go up 6k, housing in 2000 200k, in 2023 500k. Income didn't raise like houses did. Get us off the land and into apartments in sustainable cities….. uuuhhhmmm 🤔🤔🤔
