How do we know Jesus performed miracles? There is a reputation that we can trace back to the gospel of Mark, and as nearly as we can discern, originates with the gospel of Mark.
So why did Paul never mention Jesus' miracles?

Yes, he was known as a miracle worker. But, this isn’t the same as saying he actually performed miracles. Two different things
The gospels tell a consistent story because at least three of them were used as source material for one another. Mark was used by Matthew and Luke as source material in several places. Sometimes word for word.
Least we forget two things; the authors of the NT were not disinterested parties. They had agendas they wanted to advance. The audiences were different and sometimes stories are altered slightly to advance a desired narrative by the author. Finally, these scholars are more than likely Christian’s themselves. Again, not disinterested parties.
The Talmud published about the 3rd or 4th century AD by unbelieving Jews refers to Jesus as a miracle working magician and goes on to further demonize him.

How do we know? Someone said so. Anyways, anyone wanna talk? Jesus' persecutors obviously called him a demon, people always call other people's Gods demons. I'm curious, what is a demon anyway? A fallen angel? Some mini diety with free will? God made and knows and controls everything, right? So the God of fundamentalists like yourselves, and the God of spiritual cosmic life force agnostic like myself, are not so different. It's just kind of the spirit that runs through all matter and energy and connects all life and sentience governed by laws of physics and a brilliant spark. A nice parable I heard was God looking into a mirror and shattering it into fragmented pieces of his image, turning as they fall, and catching just a glimpse of the magnificence and scale of this universe.

how do you determine if two separate miraculous events in which the same “miracle” happens are of god and of something natural. how would know which is which?

There is no "scholarly agreement" that jesus was a miracle worker. Only ignorant christians claim this, and again, no evidence of jesus or miracles at all. No demons causing them, no god causing them, nothing.
