Why wear a science coat when you don't believe in science? Cosplay much?
If god ignores me ill ignore him. And he better not cry about it later when he tries to blame me for everything.
Trust in a god that allows his creation to be tormented by demons and send people to hell as if thwy are 100% accountable. Hod made us broken with evil around us. Im so glad jesus can tell people how he conquered the world. Nice flex god. Now vome help us deadbeat.
The answer is no. And faith is stupid.
Sean McDowell, I hope that you stop wasting the doctor's time when you're sick the next time . Being as your faith is so strong, you could let the doctor see someone of lesser faith , while Jesus takes care of your malady.
Replace the religious words in this video with any pseudoscientific nonsense trinket you choose and it's the same message. Snake oil is as snake oil does.
You are exactly as stupid as you appear and sound
The perfect excuse for when God doesn’t show up, it’s not the fact that he doesn’t exist, it’s just that he chooses not to show up.
Amen
This is such bs I hate religion
God must have a purpose for me since I’ve been praying in faith most of my life for miracle
I think we need to dig a little deeper on this one. Is it really God's will that one person gets healed and another doesn't? Is it God's character to "pick and choose" who gets healed? Show me in the Scriptures. I do know that in the gospels it says that Jesus healed them all and he couldn't heal because of their lack of faith. Would love to see this topic hashed out more as I feel many Christians have a skewed understanding of healing and faith.
Sometimes unanswered prayer doesn't necessarily mean God is saying "no", he might just be saying "not yet". He loves you and hears your prayers ❤
People my whole life tell me and my brothers (including my own parents, my dad is a pastor) that our disabilities will be healed by God. My brothers both have autism, meanwhile I have social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and ADHD.
The fact that no matter what I did, I couldn’t focus for anything and I couldn’t stop my anxiety disorders, I thought it was my fault, that God didn’t live me, and that’s why He never healed me. And I’m sure my brothers feel the same, especially when our mom tells them they are “getting worse” when they have an off day.
But we are not “healed”. I don’t think autism and ADHD (and in some cases anxiety disorders as well) cannot be “healed”. Someone might hear that and say, “but God can do everything”, and yes He can, but God does not choose to do everything.
Our weakness is God’s strength.
With all my anxiety disorders, I might seem like a big scaredy cat who’s terrified of everything. But I see the opposite. Talking to someone new might be super easy to some, but also terrifying to me. My brain tells me I should be afraid, as if I was being attacked by a hungry pack of lionesses. Yet I do it anyway. Every day. What is more brave? Doing something you aren’t scared of, or doing something you are terrified of? What shows God’s power? Someone talking to someone new, or someone who physically has a reaction to talking to someone new but does it anyway with God’s strength?
Same goes for ADHD and autism.
God’s power shines through our weaknesses.
Edit:
I know what I am talking about is different from what the topic of the video is. Physical sickness is different from mental sickness or nerodivergant people. However, in the “Christian community” it’s quite common to say those things are just sicknesses that will go away if you “have enough faith”. And I think it draws people away from God and Christianity, which is quite sad to say the least.
God is always changing his mind. Wanted to kill all the Jews in the Sinai desert. Moses changed his mind. Killed thousands of Jews with a deadly plague because King David took cencus No man knows the whole council of God. So stop terrorizing people by telling them they don’t get healed by a lack of faith YOU ARE A FALSE PROPHET! You never know how God will react learn this & become a honest man✝️✡️💜
Is a failed healing a failure of god?
Of course not, its never his fault.
The real question – why does faith healing work at the same rate as a placebo?
Good one!
This would make for an interesting longer video/conversation with one of your guests. Exploring different scriptures and showing the theological reasons for that conclusion. Interesting timing as our local church has been having more discussions on this very topic/question. Thanks as always Sean!
I like this video, and I'll say I would never harp on someone for lacking faith, but we shouldn't discard that it was a frequent admonishment in the gospels. But I'll be fast to admit, I believe he heals, but do I have conviction to believe he's going to heal every time I personally pray for somebody? Def not. I don't think there's shame in admitting that
Amen, exactly 😊
@SeanMcDowell;
Too bad God's "Sovereign Will" doesn't work on the amputee
yep, the typical blaming the victim by a fraud whose lies fail. And then we have the lovely other excuses which are nothing more than "mysterious ways".
Funny how these frauds fail in their cult's promises:
Joel Osteen has a good study on this… haha jk
Don't forget Jesus turned around to his disciples too saying 'ye of little faith' after they failed to heal someone. So could it be concluded that both end must heal in faith for healing to take place?
