Notice that he's saying this info as he does the 666 gesture at the same time and Spider-man is a character that uses the devil's horns to fight crime: Coincidences?!
This is my take on Paul and Luke: Rev 2 VS 1 Cor 8. Either you follow Yeshua or Paul! Then, see Acts 13:2,4; 9-11; 16:6; 19:6 for Luke. Either Paul is Holy Spirit filled or he isn't and–the way I see it–you don't get to say he is if he isn't(not by what someone tells you). This sounds blasphemous to me–if Paul is a false prophet/teacher!
Man there’s like 4 John’s, 4 Mary’s, there’s even like 3 other people named Jesus besides our Lord mentioned in the New Testament alone and historians aren’t going to maybe think that it was common for there to be people with the same name in that time and place. They didn’t have the vast amounts of names we have now with mixing of cultures and what not. It probably wasn’t uncommon to go out and talk to probably 10 different people named Yohanan and you probably wouldn’t even bat an eye about it. So yeah the chances of there being multiple people with that name in that town was never that low
How can they said the author was wrong? He lived at that time and he was a witness. St. Luke was a physician; an educated man.
Once you see these criticisms crumble one by one, you begin to trust the Bible more and when you hear a new criticism you are not afraid, just excited about how God is going to reveal the truth.
Lol Luke copied the anonymous Mark VERBATIM and then redacts/extrapolated and adds to Mark. Luke is not an eye witness NOR reliable. He also wrote Acts which is LITERALLY Christian fan-fiction, colored by other commonly read literary adventure works of the day, such as the Odyssey.
Thank you so much for your knowledge of the Bible🙏🙏🙏
funny how all of the gospels use different "facts", and gee contradict each other.
Well that proves it! God must be real then. Now where can i find him?🤔
Sean's attempt to save the Bible is like trying to empty the ocean with a table spoon only less productive and more futile.
The Lord is supplying us with proof and answers all the time 🙏
Dr. McDowell. In the book of Acts Luke gives an account of Paul’s conversion and what he does after conversion. A lot of the details Luke gives in his account(s) of Paul and his conversion/travels are at odds with what Paul says in his own letters. ( I’m thinking specifically of Galatians) what do you make of this. Should we just dismiss what Luke says about Paul ? I’m not saying there’s not any useful information in acts. But look gets a lot of details wrong. Also, in the Gospel of Luke. Instead of having the disciples go meet Jesus in Galilee, Luke has them stay in Jerusalem. I’ve heard some scholars suggest Luke had a “Jerusalem centric tendency.” In which he reports everything as happening in Jerusalem.

Thank you.

Its always strange when historians seem to assume there's only one person of a given name in a period of several decades or centuries.
We run into problems when we believe that the Word of God was written by men.
There are so many new archeological discoveries that counter critics claims against the bible. We need to pay attention to these. Thanks man. 👍
Once we have archeological evidence of dead men rising up preaching in the streets I'll start to pay attention.
If someone is searching and trying that hard to find a mistake in the word, it’s sad. 😆 Do people really think WE know and understand every facet of scripture? That it’s not a possibility that there were TWO men with the same name back then? Lol I believe everything in the scripture is true and perfect and right! It’s God breathed so I’m gonna believe whatever it says without question and man is the one who makes so many mistakes. And man has motives and intention. The Bible to me is written by God. That means no mistakes. Period.
Bible gets it right every time and academics get egg on their faces
Didn't Paul quote the old testament, getting it wrong?
Wouldn't getting god's word wrong be a good sign that Paul is a false prophet?
Please make a video on supposed historical wrongness corrected by archeological discoveries
Who gives a damn what doubters think? They won’t believe even if someone returns from the dead…they are predestined for hell, why are we bending over backwards to try and prove something to people that literally will never believe it?
Hilarious. Obviously Josephus knew the one and only Licinius in Abeline, just like I know the one and only Dave in the city I live in .
The bible time after time proves itself to be historically accurate. Give it up critics, we can debate on theological issues but historicity of the bible is spot on ALL the time.
A lot of people seem to forget that Luke was writing to his contemporaries, who would have immediately noticed anything that sounded wrong. Like if I wrote today, "Sean McDowell was born when Winston Churchill was first elected as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and he earned his PhD just before the end of the Vietnam War."
Everyone would immediately know that was false! Similarly, Luke's audience would have been familiar with who was reigning around that time and, if anything, his Gospel would have been corrected after the first draft if it had been wrong.
However, we can be confident in God's choosing Luke to write his Gospel account as a faithful witness to the Church that it may be counted among His inspired Scriptures.
Well considering that there were dozens of other passages in the bible that are flat out wrong, and predictions which never took place (Ezekiel – the destruction of Egypt), Luke's correctness on that single issue are of little concern to skeptics 🙂
Thanks Sean, your one of my favorite defenders of the faith.
I get the post but let’s face facts; the skeptic would rather postulate aliens seeding the oceans a la Prometheus movie, than admit God is the most likely answer. Good rebuttal, Dr. McDowell and more ammunition in the gun. Shalom
