Script:
Is there an afterlife—life after this life ends? There probably isn’t a human being who hasn’t asked this question at one time or another.
And here’s the answer: If there is a God, there is an afterlife. It’s that simple.
And here’s why:
First, this life is filled with an immeasurable amount of injustice and suffering. The only way there can be some ultimate justice for victims of evil is if there is an afterlife. And the only way comfort is available to those who suffer unjustly – from painful disease and premature death to the death of a child – is if there is an afterlife.
But such an afterlife exists only if there is a good and just God. A good and just God provides a way to compensate for all the unjust suffering in this world.
Second, since God is not physical, the physical world is not the only reality. There is also a non-physical reality. And we humans have a part of us which, being non-physical, survives the death of our body. We call it the “soul.” But if there is no God, this physical life is all there is. So, no God, no soul; no soul, no afterlife.
Now, of course, those who doubt God’s existence have every reason to doubt an afterlife. But if you believe in a good God, then you have to believe there’s an afterlife. If you say you believe in God but not in an afterlife, the god you believe in is not only not good, that god is cruel. That god made a world filled with unjust suffering and just left it at that.
Now, some people who don’t believe in an afterlife offer their own version of immortality. I once attended a funeral where the man officiating said, “While there is no afterlife, we do live on—through our good works and in the memories of loved ones.”
That’s what a lot of people who reject an afterlife want to believe.
But the idea that human beings “live on” through their good works or through the memories of loved ones—which generally means a person’s children or grandchildren—is simply meaningless.
If people live on “through their good works,” then children who die don’t “live on.” The number of “good works” most children are even capable of is minuscule. As for babies who die, well, babies can’t engage in good works at all so, I guess, they just don’t “live on.”
Anyway, the truth is that bad works usually live on longer than nearly any good works. In fact, if works make us immortal, Hitler, with all the evil he did, is far more immortal than the kindest people on earth.

This question is eventually answered for all of us. The only way to know if there is an afterlife is to die. The only thing for certain is that NOBODY knows for certain until it happens. And those living that claim they do know, are 102% factual idiots with a 2% margin for error.
Jesus is the only way to heaven! Repent and turn to him today!
2:40 So he hates kids?
3:10 I'd like to thank God, Heaven, and Dennis Prager for this wonderful clip. The way he says it and the guy's smile is just so funny.
Oh my living stars! Your god sounds horrible! This sounds like torture! I'm physically incapable of imagining something more cruel and evil than what you described, how can anyone want this?
I like the content of this channel. Except the religious stuff. People's feelings getting hurt of satisfied is no concern for reality.
If there is a god there is an afterlife.
As there is no god – thanks god! – the correct logical conclusion is: There is an afterlife or there is no afterlife. But why should I care?
"This life is filled with an immeasurable amount of injustice and suffering", with that in mind how anyone believes in an even remotely benevolent god is beyond ridiculous. Then Mr. Prager goes on to further justify Atheism more profusely than he is apparently aware, but then most Theists are far from being objective, rational thinking people.
The afterlife that follows death consists of life after death, not life during death. Life and death are mutually exclusive. After life, death; and after death, life — by way of resurrection from death.
Pagan immortal-soul belied is not only unscriptural, but contra-scriptural (Eccl 9: 5, 12; Psalm 6: 5; 30: 9; Isaiah 38: 18). The human soul — (Hebrew)) nefesh , (Koine Greek) psyche — is capable of death (Mt 10: 28). All hope for eternal life is in being resurrected back to life in God' Kingdom (1 Cor 15: 32b), which will be put on this earth when Yeshua Hammashiach reappears at the end of the present age (Hebrews 9: 28b).
Meanwhile, the god of the present age (2 Cor 4: 4) is Satan, God's adversary, who mercilessly tempted his Son, Yeshua, in the desert (Mt 4; Lk 4).
The wages of sin for those who chose to yield to Satan are death (Romans 6: 23), not eternal life in some alternate spirit realm.
Prager University is, as always, well reasoned, Here, it is well humanly reasoned, but only human reason, that we have eternal life (in the form of an immortal soul) within our bodies.
what a gift dennis prager has wisdom and the ability to speak it
That's no rocket science. There is Afterlife 200℅
No. Sorry folks. Make most of it while u can
There is no afterlife we go to nothingness when we die.

As a fellow Jew, this is so beautiful and powerful, brings tears to my eyes. God bless you Dennis!! You are the WISEST man alive today. You have brought me, and my family power insight. May you love to be 100
I don't know if I will offend people or blow some minds, but here it is. I don't believe in a supreme "GOD," but I do believe in an afterlife. I'm not a left wing person i'm a libertarian. I don't believe in people that are more important or more privileged or have more authority than me in this life or the next. I've had just a few experiences that make me believe there is a life and existence beyond the one we know, But I've never seen Jesus Buddha or Allah show up to help me when I need them. I'm a combat disabled veteran . #IYKYK
A response to this nonsense:

This explains why there is so much more violence and insanity and depression in this country and around the world as people more and more stop believing in God.
No afterlife is most unacceptable thing in this world for sure
I'm open to the idea of a God or creator, but I strongly doubt he has anything planned for us once we're dead.
I used to have a lot of respect for Dennis Prager and his "university" but this video as well as some others of his that I have watched recently have disappointed me greatly. Unfortunately, this once apparently intellectual, intelligent individual has succumbed to his own irrational fears and insecurities.
4:34 sounds like a skill issue tbh
Excellent
Muslims have this concept of afterlife and Immortal God, and I am sure this belief is true.
This video is an example of how emotions and feelings can be disguised as "logic" and "reason":

Consciousness is a product of the brain. When the brain dies, that’s it. Did you have a life before birth?
Excellent video. Thank you for posting this online PragerU!
I'm trying to be a christian but I'm having serious doubts, I want to believe but logic keeps smacking me back. I was once a devout christian and I was never happier, I served all who I could and tried to imitate Christ in every aspect of my life. It may be due to hormones (I am a teenager) but I started really thinking about this stuff instead of just accepting it and I keep finding things that dont seem right. Is there any book or something of the sort that anyone can point me in the direction of to help me with this? Thank you and have a great day.
I believe in reincarnation. Not in karma.
And it's cruel yet Progress is possible
We are as dead as alive. And alive as we die. And it transforms all the way
No. God doesn’t rule this planet. Where is your soul located?
There indeed IS an afterlife, thats why you get to get favourite hobbies
Did God create man or did man create God? If God made us to love him that sounds kind of self-centered and egotistical. If God is Everlasting and eternal and the universe was only made a couple of hundred billion years ago and man's only been around for probably less than a million what was he doing before he made man? Maybe he made us because he was bored. You just made the best argument against there being a God that I've ever heard.
God this is so depressing but at the same time liberating
All your argument is based on your desire. Although they are decent, when it comes to argument, it doesn't make any sense
Thanks to an encounter with deep hypothermia I don't have to just believe there is an afterlife. Once you slip into the threshold between life and the afterlife, and come back to tell the tale, it leaves it's mark on you.
So. If there is a God there is an afterlife. Or turn that around because it works both ways. If there is an afterlife there is a God.
the only afterlife that makes logical sense is reincarnation, because whatever that afterlife is, it must have an end too
a judeo-christian concept i dont understand fully is if the devil rules over everything evil and god rules over everything good. but the bible also seems to rule that god is the overall ruler of the universe and more powerful than the devil (meaning everything will be just in the end through god) what purpose is there then for us to fight evil or make a more perfect world? wont god fix everything in the end? if someone enjoys murdering good people what purpose is there to stop the murderer when god will in the end reward the good people and punish the murderer? doesn’t this mean the universe is already complete?
This video is one big appeal to consequences fallacy
Authright: Facts Don't care about your feelings
Also The Right: If I feel it is real then it Is!
Kiss God's ass in this life so you can go to the afterlife and kiss his ass for all eternity. Yes, sounds great.
Another video of Dennis pretending to know things no one can know.
Oh look, another dumb video full of entirely unfounded wishful thinking from the ill-informed or misinforming fundies at PragerNotAUniversity and their hatred for basic logic. Really going parallel with that Flat Earth School thing in
academiayour YouTube creationist circles, aren't you?regardless of this supposed after life you are talking about despite it being a nightmare of living forever , lots of people died , how do we remember them ? by their good and bad deeds and contributions , and yes hitless pretty much immorlitized his horrible memory in history a lot more then the millions of idiots like you living and dying every day , are you going to deny that ? you mentioned his name despite him being dead for a very long time , why ? because you know the impact his name has , the man's name is enough to be used like a bullet in an argument
the same goes for great people who achieved greatness and gave us things that save millions of lives every day
even if your afterlife existed or didnt , that just does not change the fact of the matter … are you stupid ?
Blue-pilled, Narcissistic cope: The video.
Oh, shut up. If there is a God, you can do great depravity, because God will make up for any evil acts you do. And you can just confess and repent at the last moment to get in God's good graces… after all, he'll understand. Does God really need to make innocent people suffer from pain and disease, a nice God as you describe?
Your idea of God just sweeps everything under a rug in your mind, while you hope noone notices. Most people are inherently good. You can do good acts without kids, you can have an impact more than yourself. We don't wait for God to punish really evil people because we believe they will hurt others as long as they're able to. Some charlatans like yourself think they don't do real evil, so society can't do much. You try and pass off as a university. Put to the screws, you will bleat you're an entertainer and your words have no meaning (seen it with your kind. Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck).
Whether you believe in an afterlife, those suffering will suffer no more when they pass on. That doesn't change it. The point of the idea of the afterlife is that there will be some balancing at the end. The real point of the afterlife though is accountability. Be a prick now, and be treated like a prick for eternity, so don't be a prick. Act like a prick, you will be treated like one in the physical world as well. Hell on earth is being alone. We are social creatures.
The really sad part of your viewpoint is that people who believe in God often believe this world is circling the drain, so they avoid being a part of it. They spend their days waiting for the end of the world. Some, like ISIS and other fundamentalist groups, are willing to try and precipitate it. They hide in their compounds looking out in fear. They corrupt others into believing them.
The world is. It is not nice, it is not cruel. It just is. Be one of the nice ones, try and add value, and at all times, enjoy the amazing world we live in. Whether a god created it, or it's by chance doesn't matter. Our lives are short in the grand scheme of things. If anything we all have roles and the earth is a stage. Play your part and keep the show running (and watch it when you get the chance, it's an amazing production). It's been running now for thousands of years, and the sets have been updated. Be a good person, and an afterlife is a bonus if it happens to exist. If not, you will be at peace and be content when you die, and the curtain closes on you. If you're full of regrets and apologies, then that time will be very difficult, because you have no time to make them right.
If you believe in God, why did he create psychopaths, who don't have a shred of conscience to prey on the rest of humanity? What purpose do they serve? If there is a God, there is a reason you say.
