Who Will Be Left Behind?

Who Will Be Left Behind?

Watch the brand-new as well as last message from the Olivet Discourse on the Great Tribulation from Pastor Jeff Durbin of ApologiaChurch The contemporary church (in the West) has actually been greatly influenced by a sight of the future that really did not exist prior to the 19 th-century: DispensationalPremillennialism Within this sight is the suggestion of a rapture, adhered to by 7-years of adversity (some are pre-trib, mid-trib, or post-trib), adhered to by an actual 1,000- year regime of Christ in the world. Many interest the Olivet Discourse to sustain their sights on this. However, we require to ask the concerns: What does Matthew 24, Mark 13, as well as Luke 21 in fact show? Who would certainly sustain the “Great Tribulation”, what generation would certainly see “these points”, as well as that was to be “left”? Even if we are left or we are taken we should still take care of all things God has entrusted us with. Even the earth

Noah and his family was taken away in the ark and then returned to populate the world.

In the context of Noah I suppose you could say Noah and his family were "left behind." However, in Luke 17 Jesus also compares this event to the days of Lot. Lot surely wasn't "left behind" was he? He was "taken" out of the destruction. I believe you are highlighting something that isn't there.

If all of these things were fulfilled in 70AD then tell me what the heck Zechariah chapter 14 is all about? Here it talks about the nations attacking Jerusalem, raping their women and then after they have taken half the city, God himself fights on behalf of Jerusalem and destroys those nations. Last time I checked Rome demolished Jerusalem and did not get destroyed by God himself in 70 AD.

If anyone can properly exegete Zechariah 14 in light of Jeff's eschatology, I will happily admit my false assumptions

The pre tribulation rapture is UNBIBLICAL!!!!! Its Hollywood fantasy!!!!

I would have to say that the commonality between Noah's flood and the rapture and even sodom isn't taken or left behind. It is actually the righteous being rescued from God's wrath and the wicked being judged by God's wrath. Noah was rescued from God's wrath, not left behind. Sodam was judged while the righteous were rescued from wrath once again. And the righteous will be rescued from God's wrath at the rapture. The ones left behind will be the wicked. They will face God's wrath In the end. The word of God says that the righteous are not appointed unto Gods wrath. We can see that over and over.

Sorry Jeff, you're wrong about Yeshuah's alleged ignorance of the time of His coming. "no one knows the day or the hour" is a Hebrew idiom for the Feast of Sukkot.

John Sheffield - posted on December 17, 2019 8:02 pm

I’m sorry Mr. Durbin but though I do comprehend this points of view I do not recognize it eschatologically. Problem 1 is 1 Thessalonians 4:17 “Then shall we which live and remain, be caught up with them also in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” as well as Matthew 24: 31 “And he shall send his Angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect, from the four winds, and from the one end of the heavens unto the other.” which leads to problem 2 in Revelation 21:2.
In order for the bride of Christ to descend, must she not be taken up first?

Logic and reason are left behind. It is absurd that in the 21st Century, religious ideas still draw a crowd.

Part of matt 24 happened in 70 AD but part is yet to come. The in between is the time of the gentiles mentioned in Luke 21( the church era).

The one taken one left has not happened yet. Matthew may have perceived the end of the world would be at the destruction of Jerusalem but Luke (Paul's constant and faithful companion) knew there would be a time of the gentiles (to be saved.)

The body (singular) is that of Christ and the church which will be gathered to him.

There will be no circle back the bride goes with the groom to the fathers house. 7 days ( years) in the bridal chamber while God delivers his wrath to the earth.

"Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain."
Isaiah 26:20-21

The church is seen in heaven (rev 7:9) before any harm is allowed to come to the earth. They are in New Jerusalem, the place Jesus has been preparing for them.

Compare rev 7:9-17 with rev 21-22. It is the same place. New Jerusalem.

In New Jerusalem, God and the lamb are the light thereof, God wipes away all tears, and there is fountains of living water.

no…… jeff says"let the bible speak"…. ok…… lets let the bible speak… at 18:22 jeff quotes scripture saying "no fruit ever again from you " and tells us that the fig tree in mat 24 pertains SPECIFICALLY ONLY to the jews of THAT generation……

well it might mean JUDGEMENT…..

but lets look at ANOTHER EYEWITNESS account to the event that EXPOUNDS the TRUE MEANING of the text…

[Luk 21:29 KJV] 29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

so lets lets the bible speak as jeff says and realize that JUDGEMENT is on…. ALL THE TREES(people/nations)……..

If you take unfullfilled prophecy literally, you will be a dispensationalist.

I just believe based on the book of revelation that God still has a future plan for Israel.

Stunning that a person would have the doctrines of grace correct and then believe in the lunacy of a pre tribulation rapture which is absolutely plainly unbiblical!!!
The so called rapture of that occurs at the 2nd coming. Just like Matthew 24 says! It's right there in verse 30-31.
Only people who are terrified of suffering and don't want to make their congregations scared are denying that the so called rapture occurs at the coming of Christ at the commencement of the wrath of God. The wrath of God does not begin before Christ returns!

R L - posted on December 22, 2019 9:16 am

The whole story of the pre tribulation rapture is a direct contradiction of the doctrines of grace!!!!!! It is an Arminian narrative!!!!

for those who cannot understand the difference between 2nd coming of christ and rapture of the church;

2nd COMING – coming to earth
rapture – church is taken to heaven

church cannot be taken when christ is coming simply becouse christ is coming WITH church, establish millenium reign. to be able the King come with queen (church), she must be first taken home (glorified) and then judged (for works in flesh), and married. notice, in chapter19 Jesus is coming with his bride to rescue HIS ELECT PEOPLE ISRAEL, and to rule 1000years

so, go learn basic english pre-trib rapture denyier; SNATCH AWAY and COME DOWN are two different words and actions.

go back to 1st grade and then teach bible doctrine heretic

ps. christ died for all, means whole humanity. heretic. you could learn it in kindergarden
