John MacArthur: The Gospel, the Church, and This Present Crisis

In this discussion with Ligonier’s President, Chris Larson,Dr John MacArthur checks out the exceptional chance established prior to the church today to be a witness to the poise of God in a damaged globe. I agree with Dr. MacArthur,it breaks my heart that there are people in this country that could care less about abortion but worry about older people like myself who are horrified at the murder of the innocents!

Blessings to you all.

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”
There is hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of your sins and turn to Jesus Christ and He shall hide you in the shadow of His wings, nothing shall by any means harm you. Not a virus or anything whatsoever.

We (Church) have sinned against God in the Body of Christ. He will not hear us until we . . .

1. Humble ourselves, meaning "bend the knee", and pray,

2. Seek His Face, which shines like the sun in his strength, causing us to stay upon our face.

3. Turn from our wicked way.

We must call His Church to Repent!
We must Repent of our sins!
We must cry out to Him, tell Him what He already knows. Our immorality is a stench in His Holy nostrils.
We promote what He hates.
We exalt those living in open rebellion in His sight.
We have His House out of order on our watch.
We will not call this nation to "REPENT" and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

4. "Then" will He hear us, not until "then", no sooner, only "then", will He hear us. not before "then", not before 1-3

He will not hear us until we humble ourselves and pray.
He will not hear us until we seek His Face.
He will not hear us until we REPENT!!!

5. Then will He forgive us.

6. Then will He heal our land 2 Chronicles 7:14

The holy scriptures declare that we all shall be changed, in the twinkling of an eye. You have to see the importance of this. We are redeemed. We are God's children. Once we go to sleep it is over. Our earthly existence ceases. We are forever with the Lord. May we all give God Almighty thanks for His precious gift of His beloved Son as a sacrifice for our sins. God knows everyone of you by name. He is well aware of your sufferings and pain. There is nothing hid from His presence. You are precious in His sight.

When you're calm and trust the Lord within you, you'd see that this whole "pandemic" thing is as "pandemic" as the cold… And therefore have nothing to fear. You practise common sense cleanliness and health and that's how you honour the Holy Spirit who resides in your body the Temple.

I really appreciate John's description of proclaiming the gospel – in that it does not necessarily require a confrontation, argument, or debate.  That was excellent and much appreciated.

Douglas Rowland - posted on April 9, 2020 7:20 pm

Well…he makes sense…our ancestors died…our grandparents died…some of our children died while we were still here….our parents died…AND WE WILL DIE…temporary ??? how much more temporary can you get THAN THAT????!!!!!

Douglas Rowland - posted on April 9, 2020 7:25 pm

but I have a question…If as Pastor McArthur said…people are not in control of their death, or the world…why do some people try so hard to be in control OF OTHER PEOPLE ???!!!! (who ALSO are not in control????!!) but they seem to be NOT in control of themselves ??? What's The Spoof ???

Beloved, that train is NOT coming, because that train doesn't exist.

The Lord Jesus Christ will not "Repent" for America's wickedness nor will He "repent" for His Church's unrighteousness. So, that train is not coming, because it doesn't exist.

So now we've narrows the field of due diligence and " responsibility" down to our nation and His blood bought Church.

Perhaps, we're waiting for our beloved nation to figure it out or get the message of Repentance and faith in Christ or "perish" by osmosis. Not happening.

Also, if those of us in His Body, believe we have no need of repentance because our hearts are pure and hands clean, we do err, not knowing the Scriptures. We have among others sins the blood of those we've failed to warn on our watch on our hands.

Someone once said, If God doesn't judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

The Almighty God, "Pantocrator," apologizing to the children of men who have committed abominations in His sight? That's not going to happen!

He will judge America as He has judged other nations in the past which failed to repent and He will judge His Church as He did Israel. He's no respecter of persons nor His own.

Christ has given His Church "here" in America, over 40 years to repent of modernism which some of our forefathers warned the leadership would continue to expand it's footprint in the future.

If that's wasn't enough He's essentially shut the doors, through this pestilence, to most congregations assembling across the fruited plains.

He's given us well over a month not in the "street" but in the 'house" to think about our works in His House, the Body of Christ. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying unto the "churches"

The Baptist Standard Church Directory and Busy Pastor's Guide by L. G. Jordan D. D. along with A. M. Townsend D. D. and E. W. D. Isaac published by the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A. 1929 reprinted 1988.

These words are found on page 109, Fundamentalism vs Modernism

Starting at the 2nd sentence. "It must be admitted that we are face to face with the peril of doubt, and uncertainty as a result of ambitious and unconsecrated learning. There are those who are persistently digging at the foundations of religious beliefs that have been the anchor of the christian church for many centuries, and it behooves those who are true to Christ and loyal to the blessed book, to bestir themselves, and be ever ready to give a reason for the faith that is in them, says Dr. Albert C. Diefenbach.

Let's not get cute!

Let's not get cute before we are permitted to return to His House of Prayer, by failing to repent of our sins prior to leaving our house. Let's not get cute!

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches!
