Powerful and enlightening video. I think this also is a good explanation of the roots of progressivism.
"Classic Liberalism is based on the shared metaphysical beliefs of Christianity and Scottish Realism. Inalienable Natural Rights given by God or Natures God. That no Man has authority divine or otherwise over his fellow Man. Limited Man, Limited Government.
Leftism, or rather Dialectical Pantheism, rejects these metaphysics. Existence is subjective and socially constructed by the collective consciousness of society in an effort to Actualize a transcendent Man and Society. The State as the Divine Will of the People, Man becoming God, Unlimited Man, Unlimited Government."
