Will Your Past Online Mistakes Destroy Your Future? (Pt. 3)| John Anderson | POLITICS | Rubin Report
Joel Griffith: Middle Class Taxes Would “Rise Dramatically” if Socialist Policies Are Adopted
Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to John Anderson (former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia). John is the host of “Conversations with John Anderson” where he talks to some of the world’s foremost thought leaders. John previously interviewed Dave and Jordan Peterson while they were in Australia on the 12 Rules for Life tour. John shares his thoughts on the contemporary challenges with the current political landscape in Western societies. He also shares why he thinks civility is a tough minded and necessary virtue. John talks about the importance of robust dialogue and vigorous debate between all political sides. As he has famously once said “You can not get good public policy out of a bad public debate.” He also discusses the dangers of cancel culture and how social media is being used to make sure our personal mistakes are never forgotten and could come back to haunt us in the future. We now live in a world where something you say now will prevent you from running for public office in 30 years. John also discusses why he agrees with Jonathan Haidt that difficulties and hurdles make us stronger, and that removing them can only make us weaker. And that experiencing suffering helps us develop resilience and compassion towards others suffering.
