David, the Latecomer King • Firstborn Ep. 7
In the scroll of Samuel, Israel demands a king in place of the judges that have been ruling over them. It sounds like a simple enough request, but Yahweh calls it idolatrous. Why? In this episode, Tim and Jon discuss the motives behind Israel’s request and the role of Israel’s first kings, Saul and David, in the unfolding theme of the firstborn.

I once again learned soooo much and can't wait to deep dive more into the topics you covered.
I Am He
❤
I was sort of looking at the Talmud and it said in there they wanted a king because they were going to war and that was it.. I don't know much about the talmud but I remember reading that.
Perhaps the people wanted a king to protect them so they didnt have to be dedicated to God for protection, (they could relax, sin, and still be safe)
Don't Ad d any plaques
Is it Isaiah 53 I couldn’t see it about the servant?
may we trust you Lord and your sovereignty for you are a God who keeps his promises unlike us
It is distinctly wrong to say the "ruddy" appearance of David can or should be translated as "dark". He stressed it many times and it's incorrect. The NLV is the only translation that uses "dark" and ALL of the translations more than 100 years old say "ruddy". That's important because those translators would not have been influenced by the rules of multiculturalism.

How Yeshua fulfilled The Torah
Is not our Elohim our Elohim and our King….for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand
Stop with your satanic "politically correct" imagery of the black entity shown at the "cover". David was ruddy, not black.
It’s interesting to me in that Jesus is a king. The King of kings, like the Song of songs, is the most King-y of all kings—the highest level. Thus, in a sense, could be considered a picture of God’s ultimate plan. Yet, He denounces Israel of having a king here.
That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:6
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11
TOOOOOO MANY COMERCIALS! It’s VERY IRRITATING
I went straight to imagine Adam trying to name animals while the predators ate random prey animals when you mentioned it. (sorry, missed the time stamp and can't re-find it easily). 🙂
Adam; "OK, we're getting near the end now. Just a couple from the 'cats' group then a couple from the 'birds' group then we're done."
[moves forward to inspect a pair of large biege cats]
Adam; "this one has some lovely head furniture, we could call this a mane."
*crunch
[steps to the next one]
Adam; "This one… This one appears to have feathered teeth. Is it the same species? "
" Yes? "
"OK, you will be called lions."
[it is recorded as 'lion']
Adam; "now the birds. Where did the other one go? Anyway, I think I'll call you dod…[*crunch]..oh.
[it is recorded as 'dodo'.]
Adam; "I didn't mean that."
[it is changed to 'formally dodo']
Adam; "I guess that will do now."
[moves right again]
"is this a late creation? Should it be flopped on the ground like this? Can you reanimate it please?"
[feathered creature springs up from the ground confused]
"oh, I didn't recognise you without your head. You've been named already chicken! Don't you see the system here? Named animals proceed past those trees over there. Can't you follow simple instructions instead of aimlessly running around here like a…well… headless chicken?"
" couldn't you have gave this one a few more brain cells? Ah, nevermind."
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." —John 14:6
Thank you for showing us the bible more in depth
And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.
An nisa 4:157
Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
An nisa 4:158
“Those who have ears, let them hear!”
Saul was a Benjamite. They were nearly wiped out. He was also deeply nervous to be called king. God exalted a lowly man. His fear of the people did him in.
There be a lot of defamation of King Saul here. He was not the man people wanted. Read up.
God bless you guys
Thank you
Thank you! God bless you!
God looks at the heart
❤️
Are you saying king David raped Bathsheba?… You said he forced his himself on her…? I thought it was consensual 🤷♀️ not that matters.. I'm just curious
This Firstborn series has been so interesting to me. I just discovered your channel recently and this was the first topic I decided to listen to.
This can also be applied in the workplace in 2023. Why does one employee who people may think doesn't deserve a promotion, for example, gets selected over someone who others 'think' deserve it more. I'm beginning to see that jealousy and people thinking they are better due to rank and statute, has been a human flaw since the beginning. And it's sad.
Hi Jon and Tim! Blessings from Santo Domingo, Domincan Republic! David was called the man after God's heart!
Thank you for this. God bless you all
Excellent
I absolutely love you guys, but every time you say Yahweh I cringe… just say like Hashem or Adonai or something please? Yahweh is like saying Jehovah, which is a name that came out of the 1500's and was unknown before that time. As for "Jeh", that's the name of a female demon in a small number of Zoroastrian Middle Persian texts, and another name for Astarte… but anyways, Yod Heh Vav Heh isn't pronounced that way and no matter what I love the work y'all do.
For years to be hearing and watching content here, together Is To c-l’asp, those early morning lights rising in the horizon; like wow! Thank you so much. This is our morning workout today 🙏🏽6’am’ish mst!
“maybe he opened up Isaiah 53’11 (look how the Hebrew Bible…)” 😂😂😂😂 it’s good to laugh together like this, in those moments 😆
