None of the Ten Commandments concern what people need to do “for” God; pre-Ten Commandments faiths all thought that individuals must do a lot “for” their gods– for instance, feed them and even compromise individuals to them.
Now, thanks to the Ten Commandments, mankind learned that what God desires is that we be good to our fellow human beings. Even the rules worrying not having incorrect gods and not bring God’s name in vain are eventually about morality. Too, God, who is likened to our dad in heaven, cares most about how we treat other human beings, all of whom are His children.
