This issue could not be more fundamental.

God forbade the drinking of blood because He said the "life" is in the blood. Perhaps the Sons of God drank human blood to enable them to mate with women. The Nephilim were said to eat human flesh and drink the blood. Perhaps the vampire legends came from this!
