America Lost is a documentary triptych that checks out life in three of America’s “forgotten cities”– Youngstown, Ohio, Memphis, Tennessee, and Stockton, California.

The movie reveals the remarkable decrease of the American interior through a mosaic of stories consisting of an ex-steelworker scrapping abandoned homes to make it through, a just recently jailed dad attempting to restore his life, and a pair of siblings wishing to leave their blighted city neighborhood.

I invested 5 years gathering these incredibly intimate pictures of Americans surviving on the edge. The movie sheds light on how our collapsing social institutions have created a dangerous divide in between the haves and have nots.
