Can words be damaging? Should we prevent certain type of speech to prevent hurting individuals’s feelings? Stanford University appears to believe so, as evidenced by their effort to eliminate hazardous speech in the context of their IT department vernacular. Today on To the Point, Jon will take a look at Stanford’s policy, but likewise the bigger problem of complimentary speech, even if it’s hazardous.
