Is there evidence that this book existed before the time of Jesus. It seems like if these were known scripture it would be super clear who God's servant was and the Jews wouldn't have any resistance to accept Jesus as messiah.

It is amazing to me how many people think that GOD should be looking out for them despite their false worship. In my eyes the people should be begging for an opportunity to worship YAHWEH!!!
Chapters 41-47 are a trial, exile to Babylon was not Devine neglect but rather divinely orchestrated for their sin and for Israel's sake for God to raise Prussia to conquer Babylon so they could come back home to fulfill Isaiah's word, the right conclusion Israel should draw is that their God is the King of History not the idols of the nations.
