I am currently studying this book in our Bible class. It's inspiring for us in today.
🎉❤❤
Thank you 🙏🏾
These short videos are great overview to watch before reading a book
I want to call you to be more christ centered, its interesting that its almost like you´re avoiding Him in these books where He is the central character, Nehemiah and zorobabel and ezra are all human leaders that point to christ, their dedication to the law and people of God that went missing in this video, are a symbol of the grace of God given to us in Christ. The rereading of the text tries to deconstruct the biblical praise of these three men and remove the focus of the books that call upon us to honor God while waiting for His promess in Christ. Jesus is the way back to God, Jesus is the fullfillment of the law and in Him we are able to be sanctified and obey it in love, Jesus is the one who is in heaven preparing the New Jerusalem, which´s walls are not going to be destroyed by any means. His work has been completed against the efforts of all Isarel´s enemies.
By the way, the event in which Zorobabel rejected the help is in chapter 4
1 Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel;
2 Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.
3 But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.
4 Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building,
5 And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
6 And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, wrote they unto him an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.
As you can see, they were enemies of israel and were working against them, which is why Zorobabel refused to let them help.
On the divorce decree, the book presuposes it was right, you´re forcing it to say what it doesn´t say… there´s no anti-climax here either, it´s just the people following the law.
Concluding, your idea that Nehemiah was carrying "his vision" and that he somehow was not following God is against the spirit of the book and it´s express reading. The idea nehemiah provoked the people for doing what he was expressly authorized to do is preposterous. This video seems to me like a very anti-nomean construct that thus cannot find space for Christ, the redeemer of sins, in its content. I am really very disappointed with the narrative you created on this book, it flips it´s script and removes its most central character, it makes the rivals of the people of God at least partially justified or "provoked" and seems to imply the leaders God raised, and the book highlights as godly, are aways wrong or misguided.
Ah humans and the crap we do in the name of Gods we create. Each one saying theirs is better purer. I'm listening all I hear is DEATH!
I think its an example of "the beast". Its people doing things on their own accord and not from the will of god, therefore disobeying god. And corruption follows it
Wow , great job , amazing
This is so helpful! Thank you!
these 3 people (zerubabbel, ezra, nehemiah) all strived hard to follow the law and reminded their people to do so. they were good and did all they could, but they were painted so bad in this video and it was misleading if you haven't read the bible. 😢 so i urge people to read the Ezra and Nehemiah instead. as most people commented, i also usually love Bible Project overviews, but this vid missed the mark.

This is interpreted by the Bible project completely wrong. The Jews went into captivity because they were all bad they wouldn’t repent. That was the whole message from Jeremiah. You’re going to Babylon the ones who didn’t go for the most part became pagan idolaters and they stayed that way. Any of the three groups that showed up under the Zerubbel Ezra or Nehemiah were not there to help the Jews rebuild they were there to stop it and corrupt the line of the Messiah, ( Jesus) who had not been born yet and all of the future references to the temple are not this temple but in the one at the end of Revelation
I urge all of you to look up and listen to Calvary Chapel pastors because they have been studying the Bible verse by verse as a denomination for over 50 years
Thanks JP

The name Ezra is a gender-neutral name.
Ezra 6:20b-21: So they slaughtered the Passover lamb for all the returned exiles, for their fellow priests, and for themselves.
21 It was eaten by the people of Israel who had returned from exile, and also by every one who had joined them and separated himself from the uncleanness of the peoples of the land to worship the LORD, the God of Israel.
Did Satan or Yahweh order David to number the Israelites? Or are they the same God?
Troubling
Thank you. Currently searching, begging, for a new heart 🤍
I read before I listen to these.. & there’s a lot of things missing or misleading in this one. This is why it’s important to be Holy Spirit led when reading & interpreting. We can’t just go off of what someone else teaches. Let God’s spirit lead you in truth when it comes to understanding His word.
This is completely wrong
I was reading Ezra and in chapter 4 verse 1-3 the word to describe the people who offered help were adversaries, or enemies. It describes the adversaries that were not allowed to help the Israelites rebuild the temple as written in Ezra were descendants of those imported to Samaria by King Esarhaddon of Assyria mentioned in 2Kings 17:24. They were people of Babylon, Cuthah, Ava , Hamath, and Sapharvaim who were placed in Samaria to replace Israel. It says they were taught the Lords commands but still continued to worship their other gods and own images.
Excellent illustration of the topic! Thank you.
I am a non-believer who decided to read the Good Book page by page (I am at Nehemiah). I must say the Bible Project is a fantastic tool. You have a gift of re-telling stories and focusing on important elements. My sincere compliments.
Anyone here in 2024? ❤️
Very much helpful
Amazing summary
i was straring ezra helpful
my name is nehemiah sorta funny right ?
I understand everyone has their interpretation of the Bible but this video is disingenuous.
2 King 17 gives you context that the people of the land yes were Israelite but they followed the traditions of the pagan nations surrounding them. Nehemiah even reminds the assembly in ch 13 v 26 that even Solomon sinned because of marriages like these. They don’t stop being Israel tho, they need to repent by renouncing foreign gods and obeying Yah’s instructions.
And the peoples aid in Ezra was perfidious and political, literally verse later in Ezra chapter 4, those same people then straight up wrote a letter to the king to stop the work Zerubbabel.
And it is written in the Torah of Elohim that Ammonites and Moabites shouldn’t come into the assembly. Once they understood this they had to separate the mixed multitude from Israel.
Yes the promise of hope and unity that the video promotes is sweet but Yah has a order. His people must be in alignment first then the nations can joined. Ezra and Nehemiah emphasizes set apartness, which is important to Yah but the video neglects. As well as the same message throughout the Old Testament, Repent from old ways and keep Yah’s instructions. I do agree that the heart, our attitude/motive, is crucial. But we have to read study fast and pray for understanding so our external change can reflect the internal change.

But God did communicate through the Law all that is to be done, there was no need to waffle, there was no need for direct communication for an exception to the rule.
Good evening brother, this series in Telugu language, it is more useful to us.
God was opposed to divorce. Didn’t Moses marry a foreign wife? Besides, God did not command Ezra to divorce these families from Israel, whom they called "strange women
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 🤍🤍🤍Thank you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do. 😊
Point of the Book is when the Messiah comes, don't expect him to shoot lazers out of his eyes at the Romans.
Repent. Jesus Christ is King 👑 Repent.
