Brett Kunkle Challenges Mormon Epistemology — Why Personal Testimonies Aren’t Enough | Part 1 of 3
Brett Kunkle shares about his recent ministry trip to Utah, where he trained students to engage in thoughtful conversations with Mormons during the Manti Miracle Pageant. He explains how these encounters help Christians grow deeper in their understanding of theology, especially in areas like the nature of God and salvation. Brett also addresses the central role of personal testimony in Mormon belief and recounts a conversation with a young woman who shared her story. He explains how emotional experiences can’t be the final test for truth and offers a respectful but critical response to help both Mormons and Christians think more clearly about how we know what’s really true.

I get the idea that Mr. Kunkle does not believe that God can answer prayers in a way that their is no doubt on the part of the person receiving the answer, who that answer is coming from. Kunkle brings up the old claim that other non-Christian religions pray about their faith also, as if that tops a witness that the Holy Ghost gives to Mormons. A witness from the Holy Ghost is the highest witness possible. There is none higher!
How are you going to be sensitive to the testimony of that mormon girl if your heart must have been hardened to feel the Spirit? I am blown away to see how much analytical and minded you are… and shut down the opportunity to have the Spirit testifying for truth. Sorry friend, not convincing at all. Keep using logic and reason only and you will be blinded to truth. I see that at this point of your life you rather trust your logic than light and truth revealed from God…. that way you can only reach that far.
Can someone please turn off the bloody background music.
Nice vid Brett!! =)
I wasn't going to chime in, but to anyone who might like Girz's or Pink's comments below, know that part 2 of this video precisely addresses their concern – 'don't other Christians use this same argument?'
It's helpful to let a person complete their proposition, before arguing against them.
Good video.
If someone sees the truth of their own being, the truth within all faiths becomes clear and steady – all conflict will cease.
Effective? Not really, but the point was he was using the argument an anti theist uses on a competing christian religion. It just seems silly that he would use a tactic that im sure he wouldn't want used against him from an anti theist, on another religion.
I cant believe this guy just used that argument. Thats the same argument Richard Dawkins uses.
I'm sure if you hear God speak (as He did and when he told Abram to go to Caanan), you won't forgot what God sounds like.
