My question is why can't theists be good people without God? Evolution is why. Some people are less mentally advanced and need a supernatural big brother to live in fear of.
Believing in a God means you can be a terrible person. And the only thing you have to ask for forgiveness for being a terrible person is a character in a book.
Atheist don't have such an easy way to get out of being terrible people.
Of course atheist are good without God. I'm one. As long as you don't twist the meaning of "good" to fit a religious narrow definition, this is a no-brainer.
God loving? That's an oxymoron considering all the evil he has done in the bible
Humans have been around long before Yahweh was thought of roughly hundred thousand years. Morality with humans have been around long before as well.
I'm a Christian, but his first argument about writers is a pretty easy one to invalidate logically.
I feel like an atheist would point out, If one can read, it means they can also write, therefor an external writer would be unnecessary because they could write something for themselves.
Which is exactly how atheists view a moral code, right?
Being a good person does not get a person to heaven.

If God is not real (except he is real, but just suppose), then who gets to determine what is good? Each person. Who gets to determine what is evil? Each person. What if what you call good is called evil by someone else? Then ultimately, without God, all is evil and nothing is good. What is evil today will be good tomorrow. And what is good today will be evil tomorrow. Humans are so very fickle, and majority rules. Evil.

It is not about being good enought but about accepting Life in Christ.
As Jesus said, "No one is good — except God alone". Unregenerate people, also according to Jesus, are the evil dead.
A natural law like gravity? Morality is nothing like gravity.
We all can do good things. No one is good according to the Bible. This makes sense because our hearts are deceiving and (wishy washy LOL). Most importantly though there is no such thing as an atheist. God didn't create us to not believe in him. A person can suppress the knowledge of HIM. Romans 1
