Was the police officer who killed him wrong? Yes. Should he face the consequences for the violent arrest? Absolutely. But was George Floyd innocent? No, and the two issues — the cop’s actions and Floyd’s actions — must be separated.

Whether or not he was a good person or had every goddamn drug in his system is irrelevant. Police officers are taught to incapaciatate a suspect and the rest is taken care of in court. George Floyd was on his stomach surrounded by armed officers not to mention an armed police officer on his back. There was no need to keep a knee on ANY suspect's neck when they're already immobilized and stating "I can't breathe". People REALLY miss that point. Chauvin violated protocol and his fellow officers and superiors agree. He's guilty, lock them up and throw away the key for abusing their power.

I hear a lot of people talk about how terrified George Floyd sounded. I wonder if the woman he held at gunpoint during a home invasion sounded as terrified as he did.

The thing most people overlook is Chauvin and Floyd both had issue. Neither one of them acknowledged their issues. This caused a encounter the lead to a lack of self awareness, control,discernment and discipline on both individuals behalf. I was formerly a huge Glenn Beck show fan that appealed to both my intellect and my moral values as an American man and also an African-American man. But I regret to say that since the election of Barack Obama you have joined those who tend to lead in The Mischaracterization and misinformation of the black experience in America. George Floyd is not our hero and savior. George Floyd is the personification of the oppression black people feel that no one seems to believe or understand. Watching the light pressed out-of-the-body of someone that looks like me with no regard for his Humanity was captured on video. It's not just police brutality it's everything. Police jobs housing fear safety Healthcare the media everything all rolled up into one unfortunate soul no matter how spoiled and undeserving as you might think that he is. And subconsciously that you don't believe that we are. Your underlying biases are no fault of your own but are instilled in your upbringing Society and the way our country is structured. The same goes for us and we are expected to ignore all of these symptoms of slavery oppression Jim Crow and we ate expected to succeed without any sympathy for circumstance and situation. How can you pass judgement on a people only asking not to be killed by a structure that we paying for ourselves to protect us. Why is that such a huge endeavor. You have no respect for the Dead. Intern no respect for those who mourn his death symbolically. You are an intelligent man sir and I find it hard to believe that you are unintentionally Miss stating the obvious. I do not care what George Floyd's history was. He shouldn't have been killed the way he was killed. This man was murdered in front of the whole world and your problem is that he was made a heroe. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.
George was high on drugs and was involved in criminal behavior…no excuse for the policeman, but bad things do happen when you resist arrest.
How do you think she feels about all of this? The poor young lady that was pregnant and had this done to her. The trauma that she went thru and is probably still going thru. How do you think she is effected by this.
no matter,what to understand here if George Floyd has a past history crime,it doesn't mean the cop will put his hand under the law,unless the accuse done something wrong with the police that prompt him to do such a murderous act,and even then the cops no jurisdiction here,its all abide by the law, depends how the situation happens, if there's a struggle between them
