Colonial America: The French and Indian War | 5-Minute Videos | PragerU
Before the American Revolution came the French and Indian War—a conflict that redrew maps, ignited colonial unrest, and brought to the world stage a young man who would change the course of history. Thomas Kidd, author of American History Volumes 1 and 2, explains how this war set the stage for America’s fight for independence.

Not one mention of Robert Rogers. Someone didn’t do their research. Without Rogers the British would have last the war. George Washington stated that the only man who challenged him was Robert Rogers. Rogers out performed Washington in every way.
The horrific execution in Paris, of Damiens, who tried to stab the French King in 1757, repulsed Europe.
CLEAN UP THE SCHOOL SYSTEM WITH MAGA…❤❤❤
George Washington caused a war for no good reason
It is crazy that a lot of Americans don't know our country's history, I knew a decent amount of our history, but until recently I discovered through my fathers research I am 8 cousins, 7 times removed from George Washington which I was shocked and found awesome to be a distant cousin of George Washington.
Then Ben Franklin went to France and begged the French for help to overthrow the
British.
The Brits tried to repossess the American colonies and the French pirate Jean Lafitte
helped Andrew Jackson to drive them off.
🍯🇺🇸 Read are history book the Communist Democratic Education Department took out of Schools called THE NEZ PERCE INDIANS AND THE OPENING OF THE NORTHWEST & The Gospel Of The Redman which has never been in schools. I read this after I lost my Indian Grandpa & it brought me comfort. I was told my whole life Indians are no good drunks & was happy to read how we truly lived
Fort Necessitie

Uggghhh…totally wrong flags at 2:35. Post 1801 Union Jack and Revolutionary French tricolor.
Propaganda
This is all BS it divided the Iroquois Nation
I learned about this war on my own, not in school!
Another prager video which would be great if it didn’t include a few one-sided components. The colonists had representation when they were taxed. They were very expensive to the British government. Their racist desire to steal Indian land by disregarding treaties Britain had agreed on with native nations created increased defense costs to Britain. Don’t be fooled into believing the lie that the founders of the USA were equally if not more racist than the founders of the CSA. Big federal government loving Dennis prager wont tell you this truth.
You guys need to interview me so I can give you a huge piece of American history that shaped and founded our country that is not known to average history.
It’s really sad that Governor William Leete, the first governor of Connecticut, who established this country and established religious freedom and fought battles before the Civil War is never mentioned in US history. Simeon Leete held off over 100 red coats from behind a rock with one other colonist before they shot him. The Leete family is the biggest family in the United States and the oldest. My grandfather’s include Governor William Leet, Charlemagne, William, the lion King of Scotland and the curator of the Magna Carta and we are completely ignored in history. If it wasn’t for governor, William Leet, this country would not exist. He was a British royal. His sister was Queen Elizabeth.
Praguer U is a light among darkness
Well, brits and américains got their own defeats during the campagn. French did resist during 3 years at 1 vs 10.
And French did respect much more native american culture.
Getting Assassin's Creed 3 flashbacks!
The french only allowed french catholics to settle in what was then New France. So they lost the population battle right away. Even when families each had 10 children! Huguenots were allowed to settle in the 13 colonies.
Thomas Kidd is a solid American historian 😇 He is a Reformed and evangelical Baptist too. His biographies on Patrick Henry (a devout Anglican who died with the Bible in his lap) and George Whitefield (more scholarly than Arnold Dallimore's biography) are worth reading too. And of course Kidd's God of Liberty about religion during the American Revolution and American Religious History about the religious history of our nation reflect Kidd's own expertise as both American and religious historian.
👍
This is one of my favorite American history time frames. Brutal, survival, and pioneers are trying to establish some type of order.
So the first world war was a couple of centuries before the First World War.
A CNN streaming commercial before a PragerU video. Yeah, ok. Not a chance of streaming the Communist News Network, CNN. Not a frickin chance.
2 million times per year on average based on multiple studies, Good armed citizens stop crimes. Usually without shots being fired. I'd love to see others posting this fact. It says it all. Guns save far more lives in The United States than they take
Very true. 👍👍
George Washington…what a troublemaker 🙃 🤣
The Seven Years War is finally getting recognition in the 21st Century, I I figure we’ll finally remember the Korean War in the 22nd.
At least one of my ancestors from Derry, NH was militia that lore says participated in the Saint-Louis/Quebec campaign and I haven’t really seen any good sources documenting units in the order of battle.
I don’t trust U, Prager.
PragerU is nothing but Zionist propaganda and I hope that it is canceled ASAP!!!!!
A few other interesting facts:
1) Expansion was one thing…. but the Fur Trade was the primary reason why the war was fought in North America. It was a very large, organized and lucrative industry which directly affected the livelihoods of tens of thousands of people and generated a lot of money.
2) At the beginning of the war, 90% of the Native Americans fought for the French. Towards the end of the war, being frustrated with France's inability to make good on various promises, those Natives either cut ties with the French and went neutral, or joined the British side.
3) When the French Army was forced to withdraw from the continent around 1761, they left behind a lot of French civilians, including the Voyageurs in Quebec. Since the Voyageurs already knew the best routes to travel and had long-established relationships with the Natives, the British continued to use the Voyageurs for the Fur Trade. Over the course of a few years, the French and British were able to get along and work together with little difficulty.
4) Washington so desperately wanted a commission in the regular British Army. His family had lots of assets with land, but being cash-poor, he wasn't able to purchase a commission. Due to his exceptional service as a provincial colonel, he was hoping to be given one…. but his correspondence was generally ignored.
5) Many of those taxes imposed by Parliament were repealed before 1774.
6) One of the biggest reasons for the Revolutionary War is that the British were actually enforcing the Proclamation Line of 1759, which stipulated the British colonists had to stay on the east side of the Appalachian Mountains. They were actively working to keep whites off of Native land… which didn't go over too well with the civilian population…
