By the time Israel becomes a nation, their priesthood is already totally corrupt. So the people ask for a king to lead them and God anoints David. In this video, we’ll explore David’s role as a priestly king and his failure to live up to this calling. The story of David ultimately points to the arrival of Jesus, the true royal priest who will bring the blessings of Eden and restore humans to their divine calling.

  4. You lost me at 2:55. King David was that priestly king. And before him was Samuel, the reason why I think that is because they both wore the ephod. or at least, Samuel was the priest and David was the Priestly king after the order of Melchizedek King of Salem or Jerusalem. lol Jesus is the true king however his kingdom is of Heaven an incorruptible kingdom perfect which is the new Jerusalem and it comes from Heaven to earth. We may just see a new Melchizedek priest king in Jerusalem the way king David knew it of the tribe of David and Ephraim.

  8. KING DAVID AND JESUS CHRIST.

    (Please open the Holy Bible and read the undermentioned Biblical verses 'real time' to understand this write up better).

    1. Seek David in the last days.

    David definitely has some involvement with Christ's appearances.

    (Ref Hos 3:5).

    2. Jesus is the prophetical David.

    As prophecied, (Isa 9:6-7)

    And fulfilled in (Luke 1:31-32)

    3. Natural David in Old Testament, and Spiritualal David in New Testament.

    Natural David

    David's being coronated at 30 and ruling for 40 years is part of a prophecy directly related to Jesus.

    (2 Samuel 5:4)

    Because Jesus was baptized (Spiritualality coronated) at the age of 30 ( Luke 3:21-23)

    But Jesus ran his ministry only for 3 years, instead of 40.

    Shouldn't he complete the remaining 37 years ?????

    Since each Prophecy of the Bible Must be fulfilled, ( Mt 5:18 and 24:35)

    Lord Jesus Christ will come a second time to complete the remaining 37 years of his ministry as prophecied in , , ,

    Heb 9:28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

  26. I must say these narratives help so much when reading the bible. Im in Samuel feeling like an ocean buoy wavering and think time to see if BP has a David video. 5 min video helps to reinforce what I am reading in 1 Samuel and get me back upright! Thank you BP!!!!!

  43. I really love your mission and what you do. Love it! I really, really do.

    However, this video isn't specifically about "David, the Priestly King", is it? I really appreciate putting things into the context of the flow of the Bible and how it fits into God's design, but I was disappointed that it lost clear focus on David's life as the main topic (especially for use as a teaching tool). You all probably know best. Thanks again for all you do!

  48. David was the son of a rich man. The books of Samuel reveal him to be as bad as Saul if not worse. The main takeaway is that God's will can even withstand centuries of political manipulation. Royalty is not about protecting faith, but a nation. Because David was more ruthless than his enemies, Israel survived. David is not a "Man after God's own heart." He was a man who knew how to use the mass media of the time to build his own legend and justify his atrocities. I actually think that's probably why Mary being the line that Jesus comes from is crucially important. God did not require the "root" of Jessie the rich man to bring his Son into the world.
