Does “Lean Not on Your Understanding” Mean Ignoring Evidence?
Greg and Amy discuss the difference between trusting in one’s heart and relying on God’s wisdom, explaining that while culture often encourages following feelings, Scripture teaches the importance of trusting in God over human understanding. They emphasize that true wisdom comes from aligning our minds with God’s truth, rather than relying solely on emotions or personal reasoning.

Your head (logic) and your heart (love) as well as God's Word all have to agree. It is best to have others (who have Biblical Wisdom) review what you believe and challenge it, if need be. I found this out during Bible Study ! If they do not agree you need to probe down into why: is your logic flawed, is your heart deceived, is your understanding of God's Word wrong?
the difference is that the reference point of Proverbs is objective (God ) and trusting your heart is a subjective reference point
Lessen the self and increase in Christ.
Jesus lives! ♥️ and is Yahweh God 🙏🏻 Christ ✝️ and King 👑
Replace God with “your religion” and suddenly it seems far less wise to simply ignore your own understanding. However, to the Christian, questioning religion would entail questioning God, which prevents them from ever recognizing the flaws in the beliefs they are supposed to hold. Effectively, God is a shield for anything that is supposed to be beyond criticism.
