Examining the Trump Administration’s Recent Actions on Venezuela
Over the last the several weeks, activity on Venezuela has significantly picked up pace. The U.S. Department of Justice indicted Nicolas Maduro and 14 members of his regime on charges of narco-terrorism, presented a proposal for a transition government, and deployed the largest amount of counter-narcotics assets to the East-Pacific and Caribbean in recent history. The recent arrival of COVID-19 to Venezuela is poised to overwhelm Venezuela’s health system, already devastated by years of Maduro’s corruption. Since the outbreak began, Maduro has imprisoned whistleblowers, medical professionals, and opposition lawmakers. The regime has also continued sending free oil and medical supplies to Cuba, politicizing healthcare over protecting vulnerable Venezuelans. Please join The Heritage Foundation for a conversation with Deputy Assistant Secretary Carrie Filipetti to unpack these recent developments and policy initiatives.

not gonna sit thru 1 hour of this. Could someone summarize it please
Nonsense. Where, exactly has a dictator pulled out because of sanctions and internal political pressure?? Maduro and Ortega in Nicaragua are living the good life. And they're killing people. Accept it or do something a la Regan with a good dose of Monroe doctrine and gunboat diplomacy. Bomb Ivan outta OUR hemisphere. Let the Navy and Marine Corps make short work of all concerned or let the CIA arm and organize rebels and settle in for at least a decade of insurgency.
How are we going to deal with the Cubans, because they are propping up the Maduro regime?
I hope that the Dep't. of State also makes sure that we have free and fair elections here, with no voter fraud.
