Four Lies the Culture Tells About the Truth
For more information, read Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels (http://amzn.to/2AW8bc5)
In this episode of the Cold-Case Christianity Broadcast, J. Warner examines four popular misconceptions and misstatements about the nature of objective truth, tolerance and our over-reliance on science. If there are no objective truths (or they can’t be known) there is little reason to examine the truth about God. We need to get to the truth about truth before we can ever know the truth about anything else.

After all this, in 2024 we have objective reality of our biological sex verses the subjective opinion of which sex you are. Subjective opinion or feeling is supposed to over ride the the objective truth.
Amen ✝️🙏❤️
This man and all his teachings are over the TOP AMAZINGGGGGG!!!! Thank you 🙏 sir ,God bless you
Inherent in the idea that all views are equal and should be tolerated is the idea that tolerance is better than intolerance, the problem is that many views hold that intolerance is better…
I only wish that this sort of instruction was in our Public Schools. The most important thing an education can give you is the ability to think for yourself.
Science gets it wrong a lot: the earth is flat, the sun revolves around the earth, the age of the earth, it keeps changing, One galaxy universe and the list goes on. Science isn't always right. It keeps changing but the Bible doesn't. William Fontaine Maury discover the Ocean currents using the Bible.
Science is based upon observation, which is a natural process. Science therefore is itself limited to the natural. That does not prevent scientists from speculating about things they want to be true, like dark matter, or like the multiverse, things which are beyond the reach of natural observation. But such speculations stand only until evidence contradicts them. But such evidence is often rejected until it becomes impossible to ignore. Evolutionists practice this all the time. All the evidence refutes the theory of evolution and supports the Bible. Science is a good tool (limited as it is), but only when wielded by honest people. Real science proves that the theory of evolution is false, at every turn. Real science also proves that the Bible is true. Science cannot prove the truth of all things in the Bible. Science is limited to the natural realm. But real science never contradicts the Bible. The Bible does not contradict any fact that is known to be true. The only facts contradicted by the Bible are "facts" which are presumed to be facts.
I’m new to this channel. Enjoyed this thoroughly. It helps me to think beyond the emotions of Christianity to the nonrefutable facts of my faith! Thank u!
I wish people could take this into consideration about biology- male/female. #JesusIsComing
It's the 1st day of the week & it started with coming upon this video_ Things are looking up & so am I! Thank you for being here🙂This is wonderful.
Tolerance is very intolerant to disagreement…😔
This is brilliant….
Truth is Christ…(John,14:6)
It's been 8 years since this was posted….And,it holds up….✝️🌹🕊️☝️🙏
If there is no objective truth, then all we are left with is confusion…
This hits on the typical deflections that are attempts to deny the truth of the gospel. It demonstrates that unbelief is really a moral issue and not an intellectual one. The argument for Christianity is conclusive but not effective, that is, it does not 'work' on every individual. It works on those individuals whose hearts God opens.
Science is suppose to be a 'Search for the Truth'. Unfortunately, in today’s society, as with virtually all other fields of human endeavor (including Religion), the field of 'Science' has been corrupted by profit, politics, and ideological / worldview agenda where misinformation and disinformation proliferate to propagandize the world. It seems like many of the world's top scientists have reached the level of stardom once reserved for celebrities, rock stars, and Heads of State. Some of these scientists have made millions through book sales, movies, lectures, etc. by sharing their beliefs and interpretations of the world, which may not be based on science. These scientists have a direct financial and ideological conflict of interest in sharing supposed "scientific truths" as advisors to governments in shaping policy or the public for indoctrination.
This claim is false. Is that true?
I totally believe in God and that He created everything. Did the Big Bang happen? Probably. It was when God said, "Let there be light." God is in an eternal present. He still sees the Big Bang. He still sees the end of the universe, just as He did some 15 odd billion years ago.
Proper Buddhism is atheist, not divine, BTW
There are matters of opinion, matters of taste, and matters of fact. Two are subjective, one is not.
Watching this in 2023…….
I need a transcript of this video. My daughter won't watch videos or TV. She's been like that since childhood. I never get to see her, and she doesn't have a phone either so I have to email her. Would you happen to have transcripts of your videos or should I just type it out word by word the whole way through the video? That's going to take awhile because I'm going to have to stop the video every 10 seconds, so I thought I would ask first, lol.
For those who need to test everything by science, a great question would be to define science.
"I am the way, the truth, and the life." The guy who said that resurrected himself to prove it. I'm going with what he said. Pontius Pilate asked Jesus, "What is truth?" Little did he know that he was staring it in the face.
"There are no objective truths." What this means of course is that truth claim is not true. Beautiful. I love it.
… 8 years ago, Jim did this video… Lord almighty, it's still great; I think CS Lewis would say something similar – in the 50ies, but – it's like this post enlightenment civilisation of ours has seized to appreciate truth.
Thank you, Jim; you're a blessing.
Kind regards Kim
Not sure but I think that the word tolerance comes from tolerate. And tolerate means to tolerate people that have different views or beliefs. At least that's what my mom told me when I was four.
So then, no one can ever say "that's right" or, "that's wrong". This would be true if truth didn't exist. 🤣
You are brilliant sir!
