“Woke” white people, I’d like to ask you a favor: 

Please stop asking for forgiveness for your “white privilege.”

You’re not fooling anybody. You’re not helping black people—or any other minority. And your public confessions don’t make you look virtuous. They make you look disingenuous, which is a really nice way of saying fake, phony, and fraudulent.

For starters, what is “white privilege” anyway? Because you were born with white skin, you have all these advantages that I don’t have? 

Like what? 

Like, you can get a mortgage loan that I can’t get?

Hmm. I got a loan—at a great rate, by the way—and I got the house. Why would a banker not give a loan to someone who met the loan requirements? He doesn’t want to make money? I’ve never heard of such a banker. 

Or, how about this: You can enter a store and not be looked upon with suspicion, but I—a black person—cannot. Except…that has never happened to me. 

But if I was a young dude with my pants hanging down to my butt, I could understand why a store owner would be concerned. I used to be a cop. Believe me, I understand. If I owned the store, I’d be tracking that kid, too—whether he was black, white, or anything else.

Or, what if I had a store that had a history of being shoplifted by young black women, and a young black woman with a bad attitude walked in. Would I be suspicious? Yeah, I would. Who wouldn’t? 

I call that common sense, not bigotry. 

But there’s another way of looking at this: In many ways, in today’s America, blacks have more privilege than whites. It’s been my experience that whites bend over backwards to give blacks every possible advantage.

If two people are equally qualified for a job, the black person will usually get it. Big companies and prestigious universities fall all over one another trying to sign up talented black people. 

If you deny this, you are denying reality. 

Which is what the person who dreamed up this whole thing did—a professor of women’s studies at Wellesley College by the name of Peggy McIntosh. She wrote an article in 1988 about all the “white privilege” she thought she had. She listed 46, including this one: “I can choose…bandages in ‘flesh’ color and have them more or less match my skin.” Wow, that’s some kind of privilege!

Soon others took up the cause.

Today, these so-called progressives dominate our colleges and universities, imposing this absurd notion of white privilege on their students. That’s too bad. Because it does nothing good for white students. And it does nothing good for black students. But of the two, ironically, the white students get the better of the deal. 

Let me explain:

To acknowledge your white privilege is supposed to make you feel bad. Only it doesn’t. It makes you feel good because by acknowledging your white privilege, you’re declaring yourself to be enlightened. And as a virtue-bonus, it also makes you a better person than those whites who don’t acknowledge their privilege. 

White privilege, which is supposed to make you feel bad, ends up making you feel good. Meanwhile, the real damage is to blacks. What makes whites feel good makes blacks angry.

More than 50 years after the start of the Civil Rights movement, the message is: “You’re still oppressed.” How can this not create a victim mentality? And anyone—of any color—who sees himself as a victim gets angry.

  2. Yeah its true, Black and white people are privileged in this country. Asian men are completely left to fend for ourselves while black and white men make racist remarks about us and then deny being racists. This country is obsessed with blacks and whites, everyone else is an enemy. They only steal our women and portray them in hollywood because white and black men want to steal our women too. Blacks have TONS of privilege but they play the victim card and are always above reproach because YOUR RACIST if you're not a black person.. lmaoo

  4. Why should I have to apologise for something I had no control over? I live in a white majority country but I also have at least 1 ancestor who was brought to this country against his will (he was a convict sent to Australia for stealing a handkerchief because he was an orphan and had to survive somehow). This was after he spent 4 years on a prison hulk as a 9-13 year old and had to fend for himself. I'm not saying it's comparable to slavery but he was forced to work as a convict as a child and would've been whipped if he wasn't up to scratch or he misbehaved. The only difference to slavery is that once his sentence was complete he was a free man. Only problem is he had a life sentence. Tell me he had white privilege! Only in one sense he did. He was treated better than the natives were.

  5. As a white person I do feel disadvantaged in some ways. I don't have the privilege of affirmative action (not that we really have that in Australia). I hate the fact racism against us is not only ok but it's encouraged. I however am very lucky to be born in one of the top 10 best countries to live in the world and it is a white majority country (kind of) so I have privilege in that sense.

    Another thing I'd like to point out is I don't have a superiority complex as a white person if anything it's the other way round. One thing though I love abour our race is that we are probably the most diverse in terms of appearance. We can have all the different markers of human appearance except dark skin. Just about every other race has black hair and brown eyes where we can have any combination.

    -Good Genes Privilege (Age, Ancestry, Beauty, Full Healthy Limbs, Hair, Health, Intelligent Brain, Physical Strength, Skin, & Stable Children.)

    -Rich Privilege (Non Poor.)

    -Two Parent Loving Family Privilege (Non Orphan.)

  10. As an Asian, I will say to you there is no such thing as white privilege. There is a such thing as "Hard Work, Entrepreneurial Spirit & Take Care of Family Culture" privilege that not all children being taught the same lesson.

    For white people, especially Woke White People, I don't need your sorry or your warm heart IF that based on those bias Woke Culture

    Asians doesn't need Woke Culture, we have our own culture : "Work Very Hard, Getting Rich By Our Own Hands, and Sharing It Voluntarily"

  36. I began to think about white privilege. Since nobody is 100% anything if you have a DNA test done and you are 20% African, 37% European and 24% Asian, does that mean you have less “white privilege?”

    No one seems to address this. That’s the whole insanity of the idea to begin with. Nobody is 100% anything yet the left likes to label you.

    Back decades ago the left would say you need not label people, now it’s standard practice to do so.

  40. I genuinely can’t type fast enough to show all the absurdities you are being asked to explain. Guess what? I’m human, black people are human, and yet there’s no way I can suffer the same indifferences created by humanity and nature. Caucasian evolved to be white solely to survive better in icy climates. Whites, blacks , and Asians are all the same people but each people have suffered in ways we can’t understand.

White privilege isn’t about whites feeling guilty for being white, it’s about the irrefutable socioeconomic advantages you have in this country if you are white. Every bit of data I’ve ever seen supports this. You rely on anecdotal evidence to back up your “arguments” which themselves are heavily contradictory, when in fact the idea of white privilege is less denied in its own field relative to climate change or evolution in their own fields.

    This Country would be so much better off. It is sad to see that MOST Public Schools do not follow and implement this model of educating today's youth.
