I Love America Too Much to Stay Silent
Nestride Yumga experienced real corruption and civil rights abuses in Africa. Then she came to America, the land of opportunity, education, and freedom. So when Black Lives Matter protests declared America guilty of systemic racism and injustice, she knew she had to defend her adoptive country.

When I got out of bed the morning of May 31, 2020 after a sleepless night, I knew I had to do something.
I didn’t know what. Or what I would say.
I saw the protests and the riots. I had heard all the accusations about racism, racial injustice, and police brutality. I was horrified by what happened to Mr. George Floyd. But I was also horrified about what was happening to my adopted country, my beloved America.
And I just couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t keep it inside.
So I went to one of these protests and I did the most American thing I could think of: I told the protesters exactly what I thought.
I admit it—I wasn’t very diplomatic.
Maybe that’s why my remarks went viral. You can find them easily on YouTube.
Many people admired me for what I said. Many hated me. I don’t care either way. I didn’t do this for me. I did it for America, the greatest country in the world.
And I know what I’m talking about.
I was born in Cameroon, a country in West Africa. My family lived day to day, simply trying to survive. When I hear people talk about corruption and civil rights abuses here in the US, I shake my head. They never lived in Cameroon—or anywhere within a thousand miles of Cameroon, that’s for sure.
I came to the United States for what I could never have in my native land: freedom and happiness, the opportunity to get a good education, to earn a good living, to build a good life for myself. And that’s exactly what I’ve done. That’s what America has allowed me to do. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
Since coming to the United States, I have trained in nursing and worked as a visiting nurse assistant. Recently, I received my master’s in health care administration, and I am now working as a health care executive.
My career ambition is to close the gap in health care outcomes and design new and better strategies to ensure that under-served populations get the health care services they need. I also serve as a reservist in the United States Air Force. And yes, I look forward to getting married and starting a family.
My life is grounded in a simple truth: There’s no better place to live for anyone, of any race, than America. And everybody outside of America knows it. That’s why they line up, like I did, at US embassies around the world, hoping for a chance to come here to live and work. This is truly the land of opportunity.
So, don’t go around trashing it. I don’t care where you come from. Or what your complaint is. Or what your skin color is. I’m not having it.
And that brings me back to May 31st and that park in Washington, DC.
Mr. Floyd should not have died as he did. But make no mistakes: Black Lives Matter and their allies are using George Floyd’s death to split Americans apart at the very moment we should be coming together. They are striking at the heart of this country—twisting the knife of white guilt with one hand, and black resentment with the other.
These protests are not about empowering black people. They are about disempowering black people.
Because when the fires stop burning, all that remains is hopelessness, anger, and shame. That’s not empowerment. That’s oppression.
Look at the innocent victims—the business owners, many of them black, who have lost their life’s work to looting and arson. What are they supposed to do now? Who cleans up the graffiti and the shattered glass? Who rebuilds? Who, after seeing their dreams go up in smoke, even wants to?

In response to the killing of George Floyd the summer of 2020 an estimated 15 million to 26 million mostly young Americans from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds participated in the largest demonstrations in US history, in World history!
The majority of protests were peaceful. In the 50 largest cities 17,000 Americans were arrested in the 1st 2 weeks but charges were dropped for breaking curfew or failing to obey police orders.
This is an equal justice system? If BLM pointed AR-15s at BLM like Bundy ranch?
Would they all walk free?
The protests took place between May 26 and August 22, 2020, in response to the killing of George Floyd. The protests were disproportionately high among young people and Americans from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. As of mid-June 2020, 50% of respondents in the 18–34 age group strongly supported the protests, while 23% somewhat supported them
May 25, 2020, four Minneapolis police officers could have safely arrested George Floyd. Derek Chauvin, Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, & J. Alexander Kueng cost taxpayers $271,200 to perform their duty with minimal harm, Without due process they killed Floyd.
December 27, 2023, the average salary for a Minneapolis police officer is $67,800, with a range of $63,300–$73,800.
Original MPD Statement on Floyd: "A Medical Incident"
The big picture: MPD's initial description of the tragedy, which set off a massive global movement that culminated in the jury's guilty verdict on all charges, claimed that Floyd "physically resisted officers" and "appeared to be suffering medical distress" after being handcuffed. It made no mention of the kind of force Chauvin used on the 46-year-old man.
Professional police would have know some of the population they interact with are under the influence.
George Floyd family settlement: $27 million
All the damage from protests.
And, people taking advantage:
MINNEAPOLIS — FBI Minneapolis officials are seeking help identifying a person of interest who went viral online as "Umbrella Man" during the unrest following George Floyd's murder.
According to the FBI, on May 27, 2020, the person of interest was seen breaking windows at the AutoZone Auto Parts on Lake Street and vandalizing the Minneapolis Police Department's 3rd Precinct.
The FBI released several pictures showing the person of interest, who is wearing a black baseball hat with a unique yellow logo with the letters L, M and Co.
If only all black people thought as she does. She is not a victim. She is very wise. God bless you Nestride.
America is the land of opportunity, for now. The socialist left would take that away. They would force everyone to be servants of an authoritarian, corporate, socialist state. It would be a single party state where corporations, the military industrial/security complex, and the elites that run the central government would have absolute power to control what the people are allowed to think, say, and do.
You brought a tear to the eye of an old crusty white guy. You understand the magic of America. I am so proud of you, I am so proud you are a fellow American
Ironically, healthcare administrators and executives, are essentially worthless parasites on the healthcare profession.
Message for the black American community:
(Coming from an educated black Australian normal young man myself born in 1998 from the younger generation, with no criminal record.)
-Build your own safe communities by coming together.
-Cancel black history month because it is super condescending and very cringeworthy to black people.
-Eradicate alcohol culture and drug culture because it is poisoning the black community.
-Eradicate baby mama culture because it is so reckless and so selfish to children both boys & girls.
-Eradicate hyperfemininity culture and embrace nurturing femininity.
-Eradicate machismo culture and embrace heroic masculinity.
-Eradicate the victim mentality.
-Have diversity of thought.
-Have more black cops.
-Have more black fathers in their homes so they could provide and protect for their daughters & their sons plus they should stay married to their wives.
-Motivate black American boys and black American girls to be courageous & to be educated.
-Stop bullying each other for not being black enough and stop calling each other coons & sellouts because it is absolutely evil plus if you are born black your black end of story.
-Stop comparing yourself to your enslaved and your segregated black ancestors because you have no idea the amount of suffering they all went through. So be grateful that you are living free from chattel slavery and Jim Crow segregational laws in modern day present America.
-Stop depending on big government because the government is so corrupted and so evil.
-Stop mixing gang culture and hip hop rap culture together because gang culture is bloody disgusting & pure evil. Also hip hop rap culture is meant to be about cool beats poetry and breakdancing period.
-Stop rioting and trashing the black community every time a black person gets mistreated or worse killed by an abusive cop when you hear it on the propaganda news media. Protest peacefully to seek justice period.
-Stop sagging your pants and pull it up because it is absolutely disgusting, embarrassing, immature, inappropriate, & beyond stupid.
-Stop the gun violence in your neighbourhood.
-Stop the race-baiting paranoia.
-Stop with the ghetto slang accent and speak proper English because your embarrassing black people all across America & around the world.
-Vote for different political parties.
Follow these four simple steps to have a less troubled life:
Step 1: Graduate from high school.
Step 2: Do not have kids out of wedlock.
Step 3: Hold down a job.
Step 4: Do not commit crimes.
God bless you.
You are awesome
Bless her ❤️❤️❤️
What a great woman awesome message you’ll make a great wife mother and leader in your future
Best of luck
A breath of fresh air, Thank You
She is bought the George Floyd lie. She is horrified by what happened to him and he should not have died as he did. Well, per the death certificate, he died of severe heart disease and drug overdose. He had been hospitalized for drug overdose just a month earlier and he was with his drug dealer at the time of his arrest per his girlfriend. On body cams videeo and audio you see him foam at the mouth and say he was hooping meaning he put drugs up his butt for a faster more intense effect. He was 6'6" and resisted. When trying to get him in the back of a patrol car, he kicked and bucked and yelled he wanted to be on the ground. The cops did put him on the ground but he still kicked and bucked. He was dangerous. Officers had to hold his legs down. There was never a knee on his neck which even the police chief admitted under oath and the police chief couldn't wait to damn the police. Floyd was a dying man. His calling for Mama means nothing. He called his girlfriend Mama and he talked nonsense and yelled noise. The ME said that the whole incident of being arrested tipped him over the edge but also admitted that just the heart disease could kill him, and just the overdose could kill him. The ambulance was delayed for some reason. The cops restraining him is the only chance Floyd had. Being on the stomach is the way to keep someone on fentanyl from suffocating. The police are not medical personnel. The jury decided Chauvin was guilty because of what he DIDN'T do by not giving Floyd medical attention. What cowards. The police did the only things that gave Floyd a chance of surviving. If Miss. Yumga is really horrified, she must watch the trial, all of it, and learn what really happened.
God Bless You. God Bless the US.🇺🇸🗽🦅
Nestride is an example of "After you've lived in hell for so long you'll basically do anything for Heaven"
2:09 Wow well she and people who wanna live here are going to be dealing with Xenophobic people that's for sure but miss Conservative pretends that they don't exist.
Let's not be too horrified by what happened to George Floyd after all he requested to be taken out of the vehicle and put on the ground and he was also chock-full of fentanyl which could easily have been the main cause of his death
I'm a 1st generation immigrant. It took me 18 years to legally immigrate here. Within 9 hours of my arrival I met an US Air Force recruiter. I swore in (took the oath of enlistment) 4 months later and after 9 months in total I graduated boot/got naturalized as an American Citizen while also becoming an Airman. I'm now a disabled veteran and I continue to serve as civilian federal employee because I love the United States and it's people. I am and always be eternally grateful for the opportunity given to be here.
PS.: Per my DNA test I'm over 50% African (Ivory Coast)… Almost 20% Cameroonian just like Nestride.
So inspiring!! A fantastic American. Everyone born in America should see this video.
take it from an immigrant who came to America at 20, with 70 dollars in her pocket, Nestride speaks the truth.
the dislikes came from communists
“Twisting the knife of white guilt with one hand and black resentment with the other” — Amen! 💯
Just because you had it hard in Cameroon doesn't mean that the USA is exempt from well-deserved criticism.
She already knows she will marry a white man? As a Black man, I couldn't stand to live with her for one second. She has drunk the conservative kool-aid.
she is 150% correct I admire her
