Why is socialism so popular?
Less than ten years ago you couldn’t describe “socialism” in a positive way and wish to have a career in American politics.
Socialism was described as the “s” word.
Now it is verified, either explicitly or implicitly, by just about everyone on the Left.
And, incredibly, offered socialism’s record of failure, the socialists seem to be making headway.
Why? What makes socialism so appealing to numerous?
Socialism, according to its advocates, is more democratic and therefore more moral than capitalism.
Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore explains it for us.
” Democratic socialism suggests everybody has a seat at the table and everybody gets a piece of the pie.”.
The well known socialist author Irving Howe composed something comparable in his 1982 autobiography, “We believe that the democracy … in our political life needs to likewise be extended deeply into financial life.”.

As residents, we vote when every two or 4 years; as customers, we vote lots of times a day.
The resident votes with a ballot which costs him nothing, other than the trouble of going to the surveys. The consumer votes with his cash which costs him a lot– all the time and effort he put in to make that cash.
Only a portion of residents are qualified to vote at the ballot box, but every customer votes in the market– even felons, even children. Unlawful aliens can not choose political candidates, however they too vote with their money. Moreover, people participate in a system of representative democracy– their views are infiltrated the political leaders who represent them. Customers, by contrast, vote in a system of direct democracy.
If you choose an Audi to a Lexus or the Apple iPhone to the Samsung Galaxy, you don’t have to elect some other guy to exercise these preferences; you do it straight yourself, by paying for them. Here we see the secret of how those billionaires like Jeff Bezos got so rich. We made them rich! The inequality that socialists grumble about is the result of popular mandate. Want less billionaires?
