All are saved if Jesus was real. However, as there are no writing from Jesus he probably never existed.
The Holy Trinity is a mystery though, so how can one believe Jesus is God if one cannot understand how that works?
Great question. Such a bad answer. But I'm impressed with all the rhetorical gymnastics he employed in his answer.
My theory is that days lasted much longer back then and time worked different or my other one is that the big bang did happned, but because god did it
I believe the Bible is historically accurate, but Im not gullible enough to believe its claims of the supernatural
Amen
The Bible isn't a history book to the extent ppl think it is. It is a book of story, allegory, poetry & wisdom. Hebrew itself is an extremely interesting language and many of the words in the Bible have double and triple meanings. All that is lost in the English translation and unfortunately most pastors aren't teaching it.
Just reading the Bible in English barely touches the surface.
So is Paul claims that all scripture is breathed out by God, and Peter affirms Paul as writing scripture in his letters.
So therefore if anything in scripture is not accurate, it is either not God breathing or you are claiming god is a liar
The Bible isn’t accurate at all. It’s full of lies. It’s full of contradictions hundreds of them it’s full of at least 40 or 50 scientific errors and it’s filled with pornographic passages. It’s an absolute garbage book that is worthy of being used as toilet paper….
I needed to know the Bible is historically accurate because I wanted proof that the Bible is truth & not just stories. I needed proof
ROFL. No evidence for this nonsense, and thus it is not historical. No jesus, no christians.
Amazing how no one noticed any of the ridiculous events in the bible.
In case anyone is wondering, the magical god parts of the bible makes at least those parts not as historically accurate.
It's not historically accurate.
I wonder if it is essential to believe that Jesus is God to be saved?
I expect someone could believe Jesus is Lord (ruler / leader), Son of God, and sent by God to atone for our sins by his sacrifice, have faith that his sacrifice is sufficient, but not believe Jesus is God, and still be saved.
Or is the reason that believing Jesus is God is given as an 'essential' due to thinking believing Jesus is 'Lord' = Jesus is God?
There is plenty of accessible studies on the accuracy of the Bible to come to the conclusion with a very high level of confidence that it is extremely reliable. Most of your bigger YouTube apologists have shown and done studies from historians.
Ancient Christians declared the essentials of the faith in creeds. This isn't even close to being in any of those creeds. Prove me wrong.
On the contrary, we see both Catholic and Protestant groups affirming the opposite. Methodists have a four legged stool for truth where the scriptures are just 1 leg. Orthodox denominations believe the proper of the stories is to convey truth and wisdom about humans and how we should live and relate to God, and it doesn't matter if they're historically accurate or not.
Instead, this push for the Bible to be perceived as historically accurate is part of a more historically recent Christian push back against science demonstrating some things in the Bible incorrect, like the earth not being the center of the universe, not having 4 corners, not having 4 winds, not having a global flood, etc. Some of these things have already been abandoned by Christians, and I how the rest eventually follow.
Good ol Christianity. Pick and choose what to believe out of a book WRITEN by HUMANS. are you really a Christian if you're not slapping a benjamin into the collection bowl? God needs your money he has a terrible gambling problem.
Notice the total absence of any guidlines on how you ought to live. His religion does not extend past his skull and as such requires no material sacrifice. Believe these precepts and you're saved. It's a comfortable faith, but it has no substance.
Deeeeceeeeption
Jesus is the Word, you have to love the Bible to love Jesus. You don't even know what or who Jesus is without it
We ought to believe people lived 950 years old. That dinosaurs like T rex lived same time as humans and that universe is only a few thousand years old. References to world being flat, that donkeys can talk. That koala swam from
Noah’s ark to Australia etc. I really love Jesus and believe in god but I guess I’m not believing what I ought to and instead believe mountains of science instead
I am an universalist. God saves all, Jesus loves all and takes the sins of all Humanity, even if some don't believe in Him. God will not be limited by our belief. God's love is unconditional.
Who truly seeks Truth will find Jesus, because He is "The Way, the Truth and the Life"
Yes
You need to believe Jesus was resurrected and is God. Then if that's true it would have to mean that Exodus is also true.
The first parts of Genesis have been argued to be allegorical since the earliest Christian scholars so you don't need to believe that it's litteral but that it is Man's relationship with God and creation.
Better question: can you be Christian and a Chargers fan…? 🤔All jokes, much love brother!
Many Christians don't believe in the 6-day creation, or the world-wide flood, and thus do not believe that the Bible is historically accurate.
Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth…or turn the other cheek? Same God said the same thing???
