Is It Possible That God Permits Homosexuality Today Even If It Wasn’t Permitted in the Past?
Alan Shlemon of Stand to Reason responds to the claim that the Bible takes a progressive stance on past prohibitions, so therefore homosexuality is permissible today.

And a few other places in NT where immoral sex is forbidden.
It was in the jewish laws immoral with homosexiality so that forbids it too
No He does not
No..He does not
If we are reborn shouldn't our behaviour change? If nothing changes, I'm still serving false gods aren't I? If nothing changes, what did Jesus live and die for? Just to tell us "if it feels good do it?" Our core identity must move from who I thought I was before I met Jesus, to a new identity as "I only know I am the one Jesus loves and died to save".
is that a question for the people?!
why not, directly ask god?? (……….)
Why is it that so many misuse the Scriptures like Mr. Shlemon? The people who wrote the Scriptures were even more ignorant on what we know of as homosexuality than we are. Their thoughts and dislikes on what they perceived to be homosexuality on their biological ignorance, selfishness and xenophobia. The people who treat their bible as if it's entirely the literal word of God, are worshipping it like an idol. Anyone who has learned anything about the Apostle Paul, knows that he had a lot of issues, most of all regarding sex and marrage. So, when one reads his oppinions, they must factor in his issues. Then there is the fact that even some of Paul's words, have been mistranslated.
Yet only like 1 in 10 people engage in homosexuality today, whereas like 10 in 10 engage in fornication
Very well exlained. I would have stressed that homosexual behaviour is as sinful as heterosexual unlawful behaviour, so that nobody can say that we are discriminating homosexuals.
Just to let you know, the messiah's death never nullified the mosaic laws. They all apply today.
Great Job on the video! Thanks!!
Thank you for this superb video. Really well explained! 🙂
arent eunichs just castrated males?
You were on the right track but ended up contradicting yourself. Summed up, you said "Yes, god can change his mind about some things, but he still couldn't possibly change his mind about this one thing."
Remember that MANY things we would find completely unacceptable today are condoned in the Bible. It is forbidden to eat shellfish. God implements genocide against the Egyptians, killing thousands of innocent babies. God forbids tattoos. This is where a lot of Christians say "Well, that was then. In that context it's ok" or "Yeah but then Jesus came and said those old laws and behaviors are now inapplicable in this new age". But really what those amount to is your god changed his mind, whatever the reason was, and now this formerly sinful behavior is ok.
So if god can change his mind about things like genocide and shellfish, why couldn't he change his mind about gay people? NOTHING in the Bible describes anything like what we'd consider a normal homosexual relationship. Homosexual LUST, not homosexual LOVE, is described. There's nothing there about two men or two women who are in love and want to be joined together for life. Omission is not a condemnation. The Bible doesn't directly address many kinds of relationships: interracial marriages, marriages between people of different classes or religions, etc. Does that mean we should conclude that, by omission, god doesn't approve of those marriages? Why single out ONE criteria of omission but not others? What if a more welcoming tone towards homosexuality were discovered in a lost or forgotten text?
Believe what you like, but realize that you could, if you really wanted to, find a way to reconcile homosexuality and your religion; many Christians see no incompatibility at all, and it's not for you to decide if they are "real" Christians or not. You simply choose NOT to because of your own prejudices, which is how so many people use religion.
dont let canada see this lol…for reals there working on a bill to arrest all those that oppose transgender rights…
