Jesus Was (and IS) Involved in Politics! Neil Mammen
The notion that Jesus Christ was not involved in politics is utterly false, and is disproven by a simple review of the New Testament, explains technology expert and Christian apologist Neil Mammen in this interview on Conversations That Matter with The New American magazine’s Alex Newman.
Mammen, whose book “Jesus Is Involved in Politics” examines the subject in depth, argues that even Jesus had not been involved in politics, that doesn’t necessarily mean Christians should not be. After all, Jesus never got married or raised children. But the truth is Jesus was deeply involved in the political process, even confronting the leaders of his time with harsh words.
In addition, Mammen argues that Christians should indeed seek to impose biblical morality on others, for their own benefit. But, he says they should make arguments based not just on the Bible, but on data, research, and statistics. He also echoes the Bible’s call for Christians to always be ready to explain what they believe and why.

I am a left winger and my perverted version of Christianity is based on spending the vast majority of my Bible reading time on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Those Gospels are the only places in the Bible where Jesus actually speaks. Many Christian Nationalists are Christ-less Christians. They seldom quote the words of Jesus from the Gospels which are the true teachings of Christ ( hence the name Christian ).
If superstitious bigots would just pray instead of voting, this country would be much better off. Christians in politics know that prayer doesn't work.
If you are making the argument that much of everything going on in Jerusalem during Jesus's earthly ministry was political, and that he spoke against the political aspirations of the Sanhedrin, as having polluted their position as spiritual leaders (eg. they were concerned with being noticed and revered for their positions as leaders in the community), I agree. But if you are trying to make the case for Jesus being a politician in the human sense–you are very, very, VERY wrong.
@:33.
Your god murders children repeatedly. Read the bible. He's literally a serial baby killer.
And you think Jesus cares? Lol.
"And woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!" ~Jesus.
He's going to unalive 3 billion people during the Tribulation, all because he's not getting enough praise.
How many kids will that be? 1 billion?
There are some churches within Indiana who will not touch marriage from the pulpit when it hits the state legislature or U S congress.Covenant Church in West Lafayette led by senior pastor David Henderson is one of them.He has said in the past that marriage is between a man & a woman with lifelong commitment & that is where it ends. Now he has had 3 years to preach on the Rotten Respect For Marriage Act which he has totally ignored from the pulpit. He will not preach on it,talk about it,mention it & will not give it the time of day.He is clearly ignorant that marriage is still the whole (Genesis 1 to Revelation 22) counsel of God whether he wants to acknowledge this piece of misnamed legislation or not.
I do not see how the first 6 mins proved beyond doubt that Jesus was involved in politics ? Talking of Moses in Matthew 23 Jesus gave the command to not get involved in the politics but obey the govt you have as long as it does not go against the word of Jesus , ' 1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in MOSES’ seat.3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. ' The disciples never once attempted to overthrow or change a Govt. , they preached the Gospel to the point of death . Paul apologised when he spoke harshly to the high Priest , Acts 23 , 'At this the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near Paul to strike him on the mouth. 3 Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit there to judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate the law by commanding that I be struck!”4 Those who were standing near Paul said, “How dare you insult God’s high priest!”5 Paul replied, “Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest; for it is written: ‘Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.”
When you said, "This is the where the first Republic came from" you made up my mind to buy your book. I have said that for a long time and never heard anyone else say it! Not saying there aren't some that say it, but I'd never heard anyone else say it until now. Thank you, Kind Sir!
Please Mr. Mammen come to Minnesota!
Satan win with people of GOD are silent in their Dailey lives!
Separation of church and State is not to keep people of faith out of government, but to keep STATE out of Church. If your religious beliefs allow you to lie and cheat YOU MUST not be allowed in government! For most of the people you represent are INFIDELS!
