Shema – Listen
Is hearing and listening the same thing? In this video, discover how sound entering your ear-drums isn’t synonymous with “listening”, at least from a biblical perspective. This video is the first installment of our Word Studies series, a six-part exploration of the ancient biblical prayer called “The Shema.”

help us to listen to You Lord and You alone!
SO important every day, but in 2023-24, maybe even MORE so…in the USA & Israel & all over the world. Thank you for this video.
I was singing in the spirit and suddenly I sang the word shema repeatedly….not knowing its meaning. It calms my soul immediately. Thank you so much for this video now I understand what it means❤❤❤❤
Man when I tell you I am being transformed by God through these study materials. I use this as a form of cross study when meditating on the word and doing my devotionals. This helps make it easier to apply the word to my life. Thanks to the Bible project I can WALK IN IT. God is so good. Thank you all again!
Jesus is coming back soon. Repent and turn away from sin while there's still time!!!
~My voice is soft that only recollected souls can hear it~ Jesus to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska Diary of St. Faustina
The motto of the Christian school I attended was "to hear is to obey" – that's some pretty solid theology.
Wow ❤
I've always thought of 'Obey' as doing, not listening. This sheds some helpful light on the topic.
That is wholesome!
Thank you for your ministry. The whole world needs this!
My mom's name is shema 👁️👄👁️
Excellent explanation. Well done
i often listen to audio bible in my daily devotion. i realise that often i do not pay attention and get distracted easily – thanks for this explanation of shema – i need to hear, listen attentively, understand and take action on what i hear.
Shema also means obey. Shema b'shema means to hear in obedience. 😊
God bless you abundantly! This is amazing
Thank you for these amazing videos they are giving me more knowledge of God's word.
Titus 2:11-12
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.
love it!
I just had a fight with my half sister (I usually don’t call her my half sister but this will help to give you some context) and went to my dad and told him about the argument she and I had and suddenly the word “shema” comes to my mind as I was imagining my dad praying Shema. So I came here to watch the video but I don’t know what God is trying to tell me? Maybe he wants me to listen to my sister or to my father or stop being so naive with my sister and defend myself I dunno
THANKS THAT HELPED ME A LOT ONE LOVE
In Dutch this beautifully coincides as well, in the verb "luisteren".
Good idea !
Amen LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST SHEMA MY PRAYER TO YOU
How can I work with you guys. I would love to do some narrating ❤
thanks, Shema
Couldn’t have said it better, Toda Raba
amazing
God bless you and yours for all you do for the Kingdom!! ✝️ ❤️ 🙏🏼 📖 🕊
Can I ask about Noah's son? Shem? Is the name related to the word Shema?
I learn so much from The Bible Project. Thank you for your ministry!
I believe in Jesus. ❤
We are all Jewish from origin because we were born of God. ❤
This is beautiful.
Most times, biblical words are interpreted in the light of the current culture.
Going back to the first principle, fundamental definitions, produces a "force", grace, in my spirit.
Well-done guys.
Amen
