Socialism versus the Family
Socialism is a distortion, in a collectivist direction, of people’ natural requirement for familial connection with others. Socialism and the household are incompatible. The family needs self-reliance from governmental disruption in order to grow, and parents comprehend its requirements better than federal government authorities can. The breakdown of the traditional family causes greater requirement for state assistance. The worths of self-gratification that weakens dedication to the home similarly causes increased desire for services from the state. For this factor it is no accident that, historically, advocacy of socialism has in fact always tended to go hand in hand with hostility to the standard family structure. Anyone opposed to socialism requires to protect the standard household and any person concerned to protect the traditional household needs to oppose socialism.
