Just wondering why some of these messages are blocked to subscribers of this channel, and only visible if you "join"? Was this an oversight? I can't imagine that this sort of worldly marketing strategy is intentional, especially considering the integrity of your pastor. This brings into focus a better understanding of “two men will be in the field and one will be taken and the other is left.”
Jesus birth was predicted in Genesis 3:15
The reason for the Incarnation is John 3:13-21. The purpose of the Incarnation was to save sinners. In order to pay the penalty for sin, Jesus had to be made "like unto" or "in the likeness of" sinful flesh.
He was sinless (II Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:15; I Pet. 2:22; 1 Jn. 3:5). He had genuine love. Because He was both God and man, He could love in a divine love that He expressed (Mk. 10:21; Jn. 13:1; 14:31; 19:25-27; Gal. 2:20; Eph. 3:19; 5:25).
We are made in the image of God with sin, He is made in the image of Man without sin, so He could take our sin.
His humiliation is seen in that He was born under law (Gal. 4:4). He had to subject Himself to a Law that He Himself had originated.
The Incarnation resulted in One who was both man and God. Earlier, He was a real man, that had real humanity. The Incarnation did not mean that He gave up any portion of His deity. It was not a lessening of deity, but it was perfect deity taking hold of and adding to Himself a human nature.
