This video is click bait and Sowell once again, evades core issues on an attempt to misdirect. It was James Baldwin who single handedly dismantled William Buckley in a debate and William by the way, openly advocated for blacks to not be able to vote.
I guess according to Sowell, that’s not discrimination either. Mr. Sowell conveniently talks about how the projects were different in the 1940s but never mentioned why blacks were there to begin with.
Mass murders, lynchings, of 1919-1940s, the taking of black property, and federal policies and even the Davis/Bacon Act of the 1930s all ensured that black would be crippled in their attempts to achieve economic independence. Where are those accounts Mr. Sowell and whomever posted this??
James Baldwin’s many debate and speeches live on through YouTube as PROOF that he clearly was the victor in the intellectual debate of his day. CLEARLY.

Baldwin was a far greater moral and intellectual force than Sowell could ever hope to be. Sowell is a bright man, but Baldwin was brilliant.
