Pastor Voddie completes his exposition of this account with the third installment. In these last verses, we see an unexpected twist, as the beast turns upon the prostitute. Contained in these verses is a lesson about the depravity of man, and how God uses sinful creatures to accomplish his will.

  1. @ 51:22 I totally agree that words of encouragement do not say to us "you're going to be raptured and you won't experience any of this" but rather "even though you are experiencing this and will continue to experience this and it will get worse at the End of the Age. Even so, CHRIST is LORD of lords CHRIST is KING of kings!" Pastor Voddie speaks truth as it is written. Why are so many "Christians" afraid of dying for Him who died for us? We're no better than Lord Jesus Christ or the apostles or the true Christians who died to have the Word of God continue to live for us. Thank you for this gem of a sermon.

  6. "Any relationship with the world is based on a lie" 🤭🔥🤭🔥🤭🙌🙌🙌🔥🔥 This i would say ALSO refers to marriages that are blaspheming Christ. One Pastor once said, "your marriage will either tell the truth about Christ or tell a lie". Marriage with idolatry inside is a relationship with the world thereby a destructive relationship. Not far from the picture, look at what's happening between Will Smith and Jada-Pinkett. It begins with all the things that are desirable and very much enticing, wealth, fame, power, possessions, beauty, luxury, elegance and all, but no holiness and righteousness in it. No Christ Son of God in it. The kind of relationship that causes many to envy, to feel like maybe something is wrong in their lives. The kind of a relationship that causes many to be dissatisfied with God and his ways and his own time. The kind of a relationship that would cause you to say "I've been waiting for long but look at those ones who don't even worship Christ, seems to be having it all nice". But behind all that facade it's destruction, it's darkness. And the end results is destruction. It's a relationship that eventually destroys itself, sin turns against itself.

  7. Could anyone please explain to me what exactly happens during a Lord's Supper Sunday service? Does it only mean that a sermon on The Lord's Supper will be shared, or does the actual breaking of bread & sharing of wine occur during the service as well? I am not baptist, but would really like to understand what the aforementioned entails at a baptist church. Thank you!

  10. Enjoyed the messages on the prostitute and her judgement. It puts a lot into perspective. I had never thought about Revelation as more than a kind of timeline to be deciphered, but your messages really bring out the timeless and ever encouraging text of the Scripture for application even today, no matter where we are in the time line. I feel more prepared to face the world and its challenges after hearing your messages. Thank you.

Rather than just the "world", I believe the harlot represents the apostate church (an imposter, basically–she claims to be a queen, to be Christ's bride, but she is not) which would explain her taming and manipulation of the beast. I think this picture represents Apostate Judaism basically, which used Rome's power structure to persecute the saints as we saw in the book of Acts, but ultimately, it was yet Rome itself which destroyed her in 70 AD. That said, she is not limited to Apostate Judaism, but is timeless as Voddie said. So the Roman Catholic church would be a very good fit, as well as any Church which willingly goes Apostate for power and influence with the state.

  18. Lord Jesus, you know that of myself I can do nothing without you. Father please give me strength. These past three years have been difficult on me I am weak. Please give me strength. At times I feel so alone especially as a single mom. Since suffering a heart attack two years ago and my on going battle with lupus I’m overwhelmed and discouraged. I’m still struggling to support my children and myself. Being a single mom is challenging. Especially because both of my sons are autistic and now that I’m homeschooling them my hours to work are limited. But even as I struggle to pay rent and I struggle to buy groceries. I KEEP FAITH! Lord please protect me and my sons from homelessness. Amen.
