It’s dreadful that, in the 21st century, there is still so little variety on American college campuses.
This. Can not. Stand.
It’s time we require a change. It’s time to stage a demonstration, to storm the dean’s office.
Diversity is our strength. I’m not discussing diversity of skin color. Been there, done that. Today’s schools are more racially integrated than at any time in history.
And I’m not discussing gender variety. Females currently comprise most of college graduates. And if your issue is non-binary gender, there is no put on earth more accepting of hims, hers, zims and zirs than a college school. I’m not even speaking about sexual variety. You can pretty much try out anyone you desire, in any method you want, as long as you get an approval kind signed and notarized in advance.
No, the diversity I’m discussing is diversity … of thought! Let me say it again, in case you missed it: Diversity of thought.
That’s right: people expressing different viewpoints on a concern. At most colleges today, that’s a harmful, advanced idea– if that various point of view is not on the. The minute you go into college, you get in a brainwashing. Keep in mind orientation week? It begins there and never ever stops. They tell you to be open-minded, however they do not truly mean it. Practically all your professors are on the left– nearly 12 to 1, delegated right, according to a recent research study by Econ Journal Watch. There are numerous departments at numerous colleges that don’t have a single conservative voice. The administration inevitably supports leftist positions. And, all those diversity administrators– they depend for their livelihood (that means their income) on creating victims.
Variety of race, or gender, or sexuality, or any of the other distinctions du jour that universities glorify are, at best, shallow and, at worst, simply plain destructive. It’s destructive to any genuine knowing. If you do not study Shakespeare due to the fact that he was a white male, you have actually been denied of learning from the most dazzling playwright who ever lived.
And it’s damaging of a peaceful school environment due to the fact that it pits racial, ethnic, and gender groups against one another. In other words, diversity, as practiced on your common college campus, divides– not unites– individuals.
And variety of believed? You know, what college is in fact supposed to be about?
If you’ve remained in college for a few years, ask yourself this: When was the last time you heard a professor or a TA make the argument that commercialism has lifted more people out of hardship than any other economic system? Or that socialism constantly causes poverty? Or that the post-World War II order produced by America has been the freest and most flourishing time in human history? Or that the cause of high criminal activity rates in black neighborhoods has really little to do with historical bigotry? If a conservative speaker need to reveal up on school and dare to say any of these things, and God forbid.
