The “sky of the skies” was mind-blowing to the ancient Hebrew imagination.
Ancient Hebrew writers used the word “shamayim” to refer to the space between the earth and the sky and the space above the sky. Shamayim means “sky of the skies,” and it was so high and inaccessible to the Hebrew imagination that it was thought to be the place where God’s throne room existed.

I do love the Bible project and have been blessed many times by the teaching videos. However, I don’t believe this was translated correctly. Heaven in Hebrew is shamaim; maim=water and sha=there. So translates as “there is water” or “water is there”. This is in reference to Yeshua as the living water. Praise be to the risen king, worthy of all Honor, Glory, and Praise.
Firmament
❤
People think this means a firmament or a dome. Biblical authors were trying to describe how large the skies were, and how high the skies of the skies were. Makes sense. Atmosphere, -> outer space. But the devil loves to make us sound more and more like fools so he’ll use conspiracy theorists to do that for us.
Glory to God
God is above the firmament. We are in a dome on a flat non moving earth. They want to say we are not because if people realized God was right above us more souls would go to Him
Trillions of galaxies with billions of stars in each galaxy! Unimaginable.
The firmament is called heaven in Genesis. That’s what Paul meant by third heaven.
Probably 3 layered dome. The sky was made specifically to hold the waters above. If we see waters below there’s definitely literal water above.
Firmament
Absolutely not The word שמיים translates to sky not heavens or a realm above us the realm above us is גן עדן
This is actually still a useful concept, Wich makes God infinitely greater than we can imagine or convince. if we think of הארץ (the land) as the entire perceivable universe (93 billion light years) and look at it in God's eyes with the same insignificance with Wich we look at sand castles, then we can feel as david when he said "what is man that you take thought of him?" And have an even greater intellectual understanding of the vastness of His length, width, breadth, creative mastery, and (the greatest of these) Love.
Amen
Take care with the terms used. There are no evidences that the ancient hebrews thought of the sky or earth as a dome, and this term is used nowadays by flat earth supporters.
Therefore, this part of the video can be misleading.
Makes sense. Thanks
THE FIRMAMENT.
Paul spoke of a 3rd Heaven where Christ dwells! (2 Cor. 12:2)
It wasn't their imagination they definitely got it correct!
The shamayim is the limit
“I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) how that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.”
2 Corinthians 12:2-4
Biblical imagination? You are wrong to call it "ancient understanding." Scripture says what it says, and "science" cannot falsify it.
"Biblical Imagination"? Don't disrespect the word of God like that. God knows His creation better than you do.
Isn't it properly translated as heaven. So therefore heavens heaven. Or like Paul discusses three heavens. Now if you say three skys that sounds ridiculous.
Woooooooooo😮w
The Earth is His Footstool
In Aramaic – it's pronounced shmaya (sh-may-yah) the A is silent in between sheen and meem
In which we do not belong up there as humans but that human mind always begs the question what if.. no what if that is his domain we shouldn't be in space
Wow. God is so incredibly HUGE. I am always in awe of how small minded i am.
I am curious to why many of these shorts have the phrase "in the biblical imagination ". I've heard it in many videos now
