I think he's right in that it would have to be top down, but not only top down if the authority be anything less than absolute it would then be refutable.

I need to buy Mr. Koukl's book on relativism to fully grasp these ideas.
This is where Koukl shines. He's truly gifted in understanding the philosophical nature of objective Biblical morality and helpfully communicating it's dilemma with man-made alternatives.
Loved Dan's example of how a market pricing like system could determine what's moral. I think that model probably has value for understanding the formation of social norms even if it doesn't apply to objective morality. Made me think.
