Ex-LDS now biblical Christian. Yes, there is very much a difference between Mormonism and Christianity. Like Greg stated, LDS missionaries knock on doors to try to convert to Mormonism even those that state they are Christian already. If Mormonism is truly Christianity, then why are the LDS so engaged in "sheep stealing"?
The host equivocates “Christian” with “classical Christianity” and even at times “Protestantism”. We don’t claim to be Christians of a Protestant or even classical variety, but we are disciples of Jesus Christ in whom we place our faith
We don’t claim to align with classical theology. We are boldly anti-classical in our discipleship to Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of God and Savior of the world
#RomanCatholicism, #JehovahsWitnesses, #TheChurchofJesusChristofLatter-daySaints and #Seventh-dayAdventistChurch are NOT Christian.
They are NOT safe "denominations" of christianity.
Completely different churches, different sources of authority, different Jesus, different gospels, different Marys, and different views of sin.
God will not force anyone into Heaven against their will. #John3: 3 #1Timothy4:1
Big note for readers: Just cuz someone calls their religion a Church …doesnt make it true.
Muslims do not “believe” in Jesus. LDS believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer of the world, unlike Muslims
Many in the LDS Church sincerely believe they are following the same gospel taught in the New Testament. Yet Paul warned that it is possible to still speak of Jesus, still use Christian language, and still be removed from the true gospel.
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” Galatians 1:6–7
The issue Paul identifies is not abandoning Jesus, it is adding requirements to grace. When salvation is conditioned on laws, ordinances, temple worthiness, priesthood authority, or continued performance, grace is no longer grace.
The New Testament gospel is clear: we are saved by grace alone, through faith, apart from works of the law (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 4:4–5). Good works follow salvation; they do not cause it.
Paul’s warning applies precisely here, people can still honor Jesus in name, yet practice a gospel that subtly shifts trust from Christ’s finished work to human obedience. That is not a “fuller” gospel, it is the very error Paul condemned.
Mormonism is not Christianity!! They do not believe in the Trinity, or do they have the biblical Jesus. There doctrine is unbiblical!!
Hey Greg. Would you ever consider having a Latter-day Saint on your channel to chat about these topics? How can I contact you?
Thanks Greg. Wishing everyone af STR a merry Christmas and a happy new year
As ex Mormons who became born again Christians, this is such a great explanation! The Mormon church has been very slowly and meticulously morphing to better resemble evangelical Christianity and it’s so frustrating to watch them shift their beliefs and use the same Christian words but different definitions. It confuses people who aren’t educated on the subject. If anyone wants to hear our testimonies and perspectives, follow the Born Again Bakers podcast! We love discussing the differences between Mormonism and Biblical Christianity
6:43 This is why we should really call it creedalism. The word Christianity was appropriated.
7:23 It’s a weird comparison since muslims and jews don’t serve Jesus. Creedalism is too hung up on orthodoxy instead of orthopraxy. Discipleship is about much more than beliefs.
