You love capitalism. Really – you do.
And you can’t stand big government. Really – you can’t.
Don’t believe me? Then I’ll just have to prove it to you.
Do you use an iPhone? Android? Macbook? PC?
Read on a Kindle?
Watch TV and movies on Netflix? Videos on YouTube?
Shop on Amazon?
Listen to Spotify?
Search on Google?
Send money on Venmo?
Grab a ride with Uber?
Drive with Waze?
Book a room with Airbnb?
Are you on Facebook? Or Instagram? Or Snapchat?
You probably use many, if not all, of these things, and, if you’re like me, you love them. In today’s world, they’re practically necessities.
Where do you think they came from?
From entrepreneurs with great ideas and the freedom to test them in the marketplace. That is what is known as . . . capitalism.
Now consider some other things you probably use:
Have you been to the DMV?
Gone through airport security?
Mailed a package at the Post Office?
Called the IRS customer service line?
Or called any government office, for that matter?
What’s different?
Why is going to the Apple Store so fun, but going to the DMV so painful? Because one has nothing to do with the government, and one is the government. One needs to satisfy its customers to survive and grow. One doesn’t.
The purpose of government is not to create products. And we don’t expect it to. But if you thought about it for a few moments, you’d realize you don’t want the government involved in just about anything private business can do. That’s because profit-motivated individuals have to work to please their customers. You. Government agencies don’t have to please anyone.
Call that IRS service line, if you doubt me.
Can you imagine if Steve Jobs had to seek government approval for every new design of the iPhone? We’d have been lucky to get to iPhone 3G.
Look at Uber. Just a few years ago, summoning a private driver in a few minutes who would take you where you wanted to go was truly a service available only to the wealthiest people. But now, thanks to capitalism, private rides are an affordable option for ordinary people all over the world. Until Uber came around, if it started to rain in, say, Manhattan and you wanted a grab a cab, good luck. Too many rain-drenched people and too few cabs. Uber had a better idea. Rain falls. Demand for rides spikes. Raise prices to incentivize more Uber drivers to hit the road. Ride-in-the-rain problem solved.

Hey guys i need advice, i lovw capitalism but the government love cap and soc. So, is it fine to love capitalism?
Soviet Union
No mention that the invention of the internet was a project established by the U.S. Department of Defense? Seems relevant when talking about smartphones and YouTube and AirBNB
Do you love your Tesla? Did you love the Service Department when they told you the axle broke because you accelerated to fast so you pay to fix it? Did you still love it when you found out they lied to you and knew it was a problem? Do you think Elon will fix the problem because he is a nice guy or will he have to be forced to by "government regulators" ? Do you like clean water? Thank the government? Do you like breathing? Thank the government? Do you like safe highways? Thank the government? Health insurance companies are not designed to provide healthcare they are designed to make profit.
Government SHOULD have the inherent motivation to provide more for less. If they can lower taxes while simultaneously providing better and more services to the people, that should practically guarantee re-election. I dont think government is necessary bad at doing these things, but rather something is fundamentaly broken in Democracy.
Corporations have the opposite. It is in their interest to provide as little as possible for as much money as possible to maximize profit margins. This definitely does work as intended, and yet we still end up with better services from companies than from government, exposing just how broken democracy is.
Again I stress it is neither government nor capitalism nor socialism for that matter that is the root problem here, but democracy or its implementation. The politicians who win offices are not the ones serving our best interests, and the problem is clearly systemic
Every capitalist is the government of the workplace….and they suck
My country, Indonesia has experienced 10x GDP economic boom in just last 2 decades, especially after the fall of Right Wing Dictatorship in 1998. The economy went from $128 Billion in early 2000s to $1.4 trillion today. GDP per capita rise from $640 in early 2000s to $5,000 today and still have another 10x more potential growth in the future with 5-6% annual economic growth. Thanks to Economic Liberalization, Capitalism and inclusive limited government reformation invented by Reformist Hero in 1998 โค๐ฎ๐ฉ
Thanks to capitalism, I can consume 1200-1400 GB of internet data usage per month with cheap $7 Unlimited Quota Wi-Fi cost per month, while at same cost rate of mobile data just provide me 3-4 GB quota ๐
Capitalist Competition has benefited poor consumer like me
Why you love capitalism
This kind of seem's more in favor of Anarcho Capitalism
The problem is, the fear of one idea failing and the creator then not havint enougy money to try it again also leads to things like music becoming extrenly repetitive and lacking inovation
The wonders of capatalism is all yours…for a massive price, that is.
LOL, okay.
Honestly, I'm sympathetic to pro-capitalism arguments, but not this approach. It's smarmy and irritating AF.
the only thing i hate about capitalism is that few people are getting incredibly rich while the rest gets breadcrumbs. rich people buy lands and properties and that jacks up the price of real estate. but the alternatives are worse.
The problem is not capitalism it's crony capitalism. Oil companies that seek billions of dollars in subsidies makes record profits. Industries that yes they provide jobs but also they poison our water and air. Conservatives would say they don't want to interfere with our lives but want to tell women how many children they can have. Healthcare companies that are in business to provide financial returns to their investors more than providing medical services. You talk about competing for business yet who competes with Facebook who competes with Google who really competes with Apple. What competition is there for providing seeds for farmers? When communities are destroyed by natural disasters who provides relief? When prisons are privatized what incentive is there for criminal Justice reform? Do communities want to fund the police or higher private security firms? Should fire departments be privatized and only people who buy the fire insurance get protection? Private Enterprise needs to move their goods and services who should provide the maintenance and creation of those roads? To paraphrase Christ: "Render unto the government what is the government's and unto the capitalists what is the capitalists"
"Do you need a car and phone to survive in the 21st century? If you do you love capitalism. It's not like cars or phones exist in socialist countries or anything"
See

It all comes back to the famous quote โYou hate capitalism yet you exist, iPhones, Venezuela, Bottom text, 100 billion deadโ
Socialismโs is when no iPhone๐
I can't comprehend how can some people say they don't like capitalism, all things considered.
I love capitalism.

Basketball player protest capitalism but it has put millions in their pockets
So you love private toll roads but hate interstates? Hate fire departments? Hate safe food and water? Both markets and government have their place, take away either and it would be a bad thing.
These are exceIIent exampIes of sIavery in the XXI century!
i love Capitalism and I'm a working person. I work in a factory as an assembler. The company I work for is growing and they pay us a Great wage. I have Great benefits and my employer treats us with resect. The people who sarted the company are entrepreneurs also. We don't need socialism in The United States we need more Capitalisms..
I too like when my son dies because I canโt afford a $30,000 surgery.

We Gujarati people are flagbearers of capitalism

I'm poor and I love capitalism. I'd much rather live poor in a capitalist society, than be anyone in a socialist society. And there's not just economics, but personal freedoms as well.
So if you exist under a capitalist society, you love capitalism, got it……
If you live under slavery you love it.
