Will Socialism Result in an Equal and Just America?
In this innovative series Samantha Renck will debunk some of the most common myths plaguing the youngest generations of Americans.
From socialism, the electoral college, rise of identity politics, Samantha combines “man on the street” -style interviews from around Washington, D.C. with personal stories and expert analysis on every binge-worthy weekly episode.
This week she sits down with Daniel DiMartino—a college student who was born and raised in Venezuela. Three years ago Daniel fled his homeland and its corrupt, socialist government—but now that he’s safe in the U.S., he’s been shocked to hear young Americans are increasingly embracing the policies that destroyed his country. He’s ready to bust some myths with Samantha about where socialist policies REALLY lead… and why Americans shouldn’t take their freedom for granted.

Conservatives are loath to admit that capitalism doesn’t exist without socialism, and vice versa. Just two sides of the same coin.
Socialism will never happen here in America for the long-term. Because anyone who's anyone will have to pay from their wallets more taxes to make sure that the lowlife hillbillies and street rats will live like a middle-class person. And to an entire country where a large swathe of middle-class people have had to jump through hoops, work for their own bread, and buy their own home, that idea is repulsive. Pushing socialism is the quickest way to lose the middle class and have them vote for the next Donald Trump. Once a socialist government gets introduced, most of the people watching this video, heck, most of the people who appear in these videos, will get taxed to the hilt by a socialist government just so that said government can provide a decent living to the tens of millions of urban poor and drunk hillbillies who live on the dime.
The rich will merely move all their assets to Swiss bank accounts and leave the country, leaving the middle class holding the bag. And when that starts happening, or when even left-leaning middle-class people are forced to allow entire families of hobos into their nice suburban homes or neighborhoods, that's when people draw the line and start voting for the Second Coming of Adam Smith and burn every copy of Das Kapital they can get their hands on.
Socialism requires the kind of sacrifice that most middle-class people in this country are unwilling to bear. They love to say that they're for a socialist government that will care for the poor, but not at the expense of their Iphones, their Starbucks Coffee, their Marvel movies and toys, among others. But if companies like Disney find it unfeasible to do business and leave, then you can bet your ass those same liberals who voted in socialism will come back to reverse their votes and vote in another Donald Trump or Ronald Reagan to attract rich investors and corporations once again.
And if you try to say that countries like Sweden are socialist, they will laugh in your face and say that it is a for-profit market economy, not a socialist one. It's just that it's a market economy with lots of welfare for a small, but affluent population, which works fine when you have a small, homogeneous populace, not tens of millions of people within or below the poverty line.
i hate paying 30% in taxes and i don't want health insurance because i don't go to doctors. i don't want to pay even more for something i don't even want and won't use.
9 months later and this podcast only has 3000+ views. If only people know the dangers of bureaucracy.
I'm still finding it very funny how believing in free healthcare immediately makes you a socialist in America.
Also how "liberal" does not mean "believing in liberalism, which is to say, the political and moral philosophy born during the Age of Enlightenment (ie just before the French Revolution) based on individual liberty, equality before the law and consent of the governed" but "the opposite of conservative".
I also love how the Americans have a penchant for semi-literate presidents.
American politics are just really funny in general.
No socialism will break America apart (BEFORE WATCHING THE VIDEO). Capitalism is about individual power. In communism everyone is equal, and how did communism turn out for every nation that had it. Mao Zedong killed 78 million of his own people, Stalin killed 23 million of his own people, kim jong un kills his own people for just disagreeing essentially. First the people establish gun control every nation that has communism did that, so the people can’t protect them selves from the government. All the Democrats of 2020 are trying to do that, if they were true socialist they would share their money around with every citizen equally, yet most of the people on there are millionaires. In communism the only rich man is the state, the rest are poor. Think of the USSR everyone was in famine, everyone was working for practically nothing, everyone was forced to do it or they would die. Stalin starved the Ukrainians for rebelling, they wanted to be independent. And what came after that 4-5 years of starvation by Stalin himself killing 5 million of the Ukrainian people in the holodomir. What will happen if Bernie sanders comes to power, he will make taxes high to fuel the “free” health care, the “free” college, and the “free” electricity. Some people don’t have that cause they messed up and lost all their money, mainly their fault unless it’s not by the person. Capitalism isn’t fair and that has worked for America for years, when Obama became president Obama care fueled the taxes so poor saps who couldn’t afford health care got it. It’s good they got it but the economy fell apart that time. Think of trump he wants to build a wall since illegal immigrants bring drugs, take out jobs, and get “free” things when we pay for them. Illegal immigrants will destroy America from the inside making the spread of socialism wide spread. The point of socialism is communism because in socialism you willingly give your rights away(no one will do that), in communism the govt forces you to give it to them. No socialist society has survived long enough to sustain its self. North Korea depends on China to survive cause their lack of food, while the poorer people who fuel the system don’t get any of it basically. In China they finally switched to a type of capitalism about 20 years ago, and what happened with it? Their economy went way better, less deaths of the people. Lets see North Korea they starve their people cause the govt takes more than needed and gives it to their middle class screwing over the poor class, if you criticize anything the govt does you get killed over it cause the govt does not want a rebellion. Capitalism will never be fair but it gives people opportunities to win over others, people can be with an amazing business and get tons of money cause they earned it. In communism those amazing business give their profit to the govt, then the govt gives it to people who don’t do anything for anyone cause they voted for it. In other words communism is fair only to the govt, while destroying the poor class making everyone poor cause the govt gives everyone the same paycheck, capitalism everyone has a chance to get super rich by taking huge risk which can fail or win, that’s the draw in with capitalism you can get amazing success or terrible failure. Communism everyone doesn’t have anything a doctor makes as much as a the village idiot.
The nazis were socialist.. "historical fact"
This has been a great series. Very good idea. Samantha does a great job. She is a rising star in the Conservative world. Well done. American Conservative University Podcast.
When America had Socialism in the 1600's it killed half it's Settlers due to Starvation.
Let's not repeat history.
The ridiculous notion among millennials of how much harder things are for them due to costs is ludicrous. Here in Canada, the latest data was released on debt. 70% of Millennials debt is held in credit cards and not student loans/mortgages, etc. Credit cards. Millennials are struggling, because they are buying too much crap, and not taking responsibility. Period.
FYI, I am a millennial.
Gulag Archipelago anyone? Read it if you dare find out the truth…
a lot of americans dont even go to the hospital at all that much so tbh worker's medical insurance works just fine and less taxes taken out
We do not need idealism or forms. We need free healthcare, free higher education, affordable housing, good paying jobs and an honest government that takes care of its people.
Our military system showcases that exact idealism….we are fed for free, housed for free, paid a decent wage, have access to free healthcare and free higher education.
We do not need political idealists….we need to take care of our people using the ample resources we have.
No, it will create widespread poverty, but that's the aim.
Everyone will b equally poor!
Socialism is being constantly ill defined, as the core of socialism is the total control of the means of production – central planning by government; many times regardless of the actual/perceived needs and desires of the people …. ONLY the limited choices as defined by government.
A capitalist (free market) system responds to market forces driven by those needs and desires. A socialist system limits or controls 'the market' or desires/needs.
Socialism is the imposition/coercion of universal mediocrity. It rarely produces or allows 'value added'.
The question in the video title starts out with the incorrect premise that eveything and anything that democratic presidential candidates are proposing is "socialist", when in fact most of it will more accrurately be described as "democratic socialism" which is different. The U.S. and most countries around the world have a hybrid socialist capitalist system. Stop with the scare tactics.
Imagine this…there's a good chance that 20-30 yrs from now every democrat will be like these 4 traitorous American hating racists. …imagine God help us
we will have either socialism or capitalist tyranny.
"Democratic" Socialism is still Socialism! I wish the left would break this down, and at least debate the topic instead of just forcing it down our throats at every turn.
They would be delighted to pay more taxes, until they have to!
What a pile of shit propaganda
You stupid socialists need a taste of the USSR, you'd soon change your minds.
Good video. Keep up the good fight.
I am so over seeing that Cortez woman's face everywhere. She is a pretty puppet without an original thought in her head and even conservatives can't stop using her image everywhere. She is the poster child of legalized propaganda. Obama was the same thing. A puppet and News Flash….he wasn't even born in this country. President Trump knew this all along.
Capitalism is the freedom to create wealth. Socialism is an ineffective government taking more and giving less.
All socialistic countries eventually go bankrupt and fail in all their projects. Just look at California!
People who push socialism must believe they will be among the elite, and not have to wait 3 hours (or more) in line for toilet paper, like the common people.
You Vote in Socialism…Then…You Shoot your way out of Socialism.
Have you read Marx? Socialism is the First step to go Communist. What Communist Country do you want to move to? None?
No socialism!!!!
Bald white millennials hire a little girl to do their bidding. What did they do with Yamashita's GOLD?
Yeah, way to go. Use the worst country as an example that socialism doesn't work. Venezuela is an economic basket case I'll admit, but the U.S has much to do with that. Ever since Hugo Chavez took over Venezuela, America has been out to destroy that nation. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they were behind Chavez's death. Why not use one of the European Nordic countries as an example of socialism? Oh yeah, because it works. Lol Can't use one of them. That would make you unbiased.
Thank you
