In this video, we explore the meaning of this powerful image and how sacred trees play a key role throughout the story of the Bible. It all leads up to Jesus himself, who died upon a tree so that he could become a new tree of life for all humanity.

  2. The prohibition against the Tree of good and bad or the tree of knowledge turns humankind into automatons without out freedom to choose. And the freedom to choose is an essential element of human freedom. To make decisions for themselves depending upon their unique circumstances.

    Knowing the distinction between right and wrong can be a good thing. It can act as a guide to one’s behavior. Taking that freedom away is tantamount to slavery. What not so good about it is that personal “behavior” (acting on one’s choices) can be bad. But bad behavior can be an act of learning because poor choices may not correlate well with the laws of the natural or social world.

    If one really thinks about most biblical stories it should be fairly obvious they are intended for the “simpleminded. Unfortunately the real world is usually more complex than the biblical stories.

  25. This is the problem with Churchianity! There is zero indication in the Bible that the Tree of Life was like a temple or represented a temple. There is ample implication that the TOL represented God’s Holy Spirit by the fact that if Adam and Eve returned and ate of the Tree after their sin, they would’ve been cursed to live eternally in sin(Genesis 3:22-24). Next-The burning bush in Exodus 3:2-5 had nothing in common with the TOL other than it was in or on the ground. God’s presence is what made the ground holy. (See Joshua 5:14-15). Next- The ancient physical nation or children of Israel were never offered God’s Holy Spirit or salvation. They were a physical nation and were offered physical blessings only, which they never fully received because they broke their part of the covenant they made with God at Mt. Sinai. Churchians only focus on the person of Christ and not the Message that He brought from His Father who is the Head. That’s why videos like this contain little if any Biblical truth.

  27. How come you didn't mention that the Fruit of the Tree of Life (who is Jesus Christ Himself) is now offered to people as the Bread and Wine in the Holy Communion:

    "While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
    Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you."

    Jesus didn't say this is "like" my body, He didn't say the parable or a metaphor, He literally said: this IS my body. And as Jesus is the Fruit from the Tree of Life, so is His body and blood in the Holy Comunion. The fact that people call themselves Christians, and reject the Fruit of Life is mind boggling.

  33. One of the things I love most about these videos is how The Bible Project shows the amazing symmetry of the scriptures as a whole. When looking at this massive collection of scrolls, to find the through line of a singular narrative over a span of 1,500 years, to me, it becomes undeniable that the men who wrote these works were not inspired of themselves.

  36. At approx 17 sec it is mentioned that the "top" of the garden is where the Holiest of Holies can be found. However, the Lord told Moses in Genesis 2:9 that the BOTH TREES are in the MIDDLE of the Garden. No sense of direction was given as to top, lower, or side BUT THE MIDST(MIDDLE) was mentioned specifically. Why twist this Scripture?
