See The Bible for Normal People .the afterlife.
Love you Randy Alcorn and I have ALL your books (signed by you!) but you cannot speak on near death experiences since you never had one.
Look up Randy Kay and John Burke.
They have both written books on the subject and they both had near death experiences. Both had transformative experiences afterwards and became ministers.
That seems to be how you can tell that this was real. (HOW DID IT TRANSFORM THE PERSON’s LIFE?)
dreams don’t transform peoples’ lives, but near death experiences do. You might want to study this more before you speak about it as an authority on the subject.
And it’s not a “dream-like” experience as you described. They all describe these experiences as being more real than this life here in this world.
John Burle’s Imagine Heaven is on youtube and compiles the common themes into a very logical presentation that is quite inspiring and comforting to people – especially those who’ve lost loved ones and pets.
9:18 – 9:25 Is Randy referring to when he said in the Heaven book: (word for word) “However, since there’s a different sort of continuity between earthly marriage and the marriage of Christ to his church, there may also be some way in which the intimacy and pleasure we now know as sex will also be fulfilled in some higher form?”
He did write that in the book and I know he is making a guess but I’m curious to know if this is what he is referring to in this part of the video as well as more thoughts he may have on what greater thing sexual relations in this world foreshadow in the next world.
This is so COMFORTING. My best friend of 44 years…she was 83 yrs old, just died and Ive been grieving. I am so comforted.
Question: if some of the children, who died before the age of accountability, would have had a chance to live but in the end would have rejected God/Jesus, would that be fair that they have eternal life?
Our savior came to be born as flesh and blood. He was transformed into flesh and bone he said. So the blood seems to be tied to the Fall. We are also told that spilled blood calls out to The Father, so it can be inferred that after receiving our New Flesh, we will not need oxygen to use for energy and cellular functions (I.e no cell replication or maintenance), so no need to breathe. Opens us up to experience a ton of new environments too , given we would t have gasses inside us, we could go very deep in fluid, and probably survive very low pressure like space, as well as temperature fluctuations, nothing to boil, or fluid to freeze😂 😆 sorry for nerding out. I love this deep theology stuff
Great Question/Great Answer’s
So, there are no marriages in Heaven. The answer does not answer my question. I'm assuming that you mean, there are no new marriages in Heaven? Except for Jesus marrying the church. But! What about the married couples that are currently married here on the current earth? Will they still be married together and live together in Heaven on the new earth?
I'm really glad that my wife purchased the book, 'Heaven.' Randy Alcorn brings out many good points. I want to correct something he said in another interview that has the comments turned off. Toward the end of the interview Randy brought up Matthew 27:52, about the saints that had "fallen asleep in death" were raised. Then he said that was three days before Jesus was raised. But if you read verse 53 with it, it was 'AFTER' Jesus' resurrection that they came out of the tombs. Someone who has studied the Bible as much as Randy I feel shouldn't have made a blunder like that. I still like his work and will recommend his book. He is just as much human as I however, which makes him capable of error.
Imagine Sean, how great a basketball player you will be in your glorified supernatural body!
Why do people think we go to heaven when we die? John 11:11-14 Lazarus sleeps = death.
Concerning the reward in heaven I know only ONE and its eternal life.
Glory to God🙏
The Lord jumbled language at Babel didn't he, won't he just reverse that?
I don't think we will need languages I heaven..we will just totally understand each other
Thank you so much for your concise answers!!
Minute 29:00 Sean brings up the question of, "Why shouldn't Christian's be pro-choice if fetuses go to heaven?" Randy says the same logic would apply for a two year old child, and says that would be horrific, and ask sarcastically, "Wouldn't it be an act of mercy to just kill the child?"
I'm sorry, but based on Christian logic, yes, killing both the child and the fetus would be an act of mercy. This is a big criticism that a lot of atheists have with heaven/hell theology. Luckily, most people have a natural sense of morality that prioritizes preserving human life over securing and afterlife.
But Randy's "objection" is perfectly logical. Yes, killing a child is bad, but is it infinitely bad? No. But is heaven infinitely good? According to Christians, yes. So the costs do outweigh the benefits.
That being said, Christians shouldn't start killing people to send them to heaven. There's a pretty solid chance it doesn't exist and we should value our live and the lives people around us, because we only get one chance to do so.
Great interview Sean with all the negative stuff going on so wonderful to hear about heaven on the new Earth whoop whoop!!
Marriage, reflect on John 17. I am in you, you in me, they in me/us. Beyond belief, intimate love on a holographic logrhythmic level.
My husband is there, and I can’t wait to be with him
Jesus' resurrection is both embodied and transformed. This means continuity with renewal. We are created in an embodied form for life on this world, so it is logical that our resurrected future state is to dwell on a transformed, resurrected earth as opposed to disembodied souls floating around in a place called heaven. Where heaven and hell converge, that is where God and his people dwell.
Randy, put aside your belief your words you speak the books you read the story’s you have been told by people that really can’t prove what they say, can you physically prove their is a heaven, I can’t not say I truly believe in god and heaven but I also can’t say that I don’t whole heartily believe their isn’t, buy I guess I need more proof than just words, say so or what others believe
I hope they know Isaiah65:20:23 literally says they shall not bear children to misfortune no longer LOL sounds like sex to me, also if men are literally married to Christ were gay, Jesus said we’re like the angels AS IN WE NEVER DIE SO THE WOMEN WONT BE PASSED DOWN FROM ONE BROTHER TO ANOTHER, god made male and female, ONE Relationship is NOT a replacement for the other..How does churchs get this so wrong? It’s a stupid picture of heaven that DOESNT BRING PEACE
Whenever heaven and hell comes up I say keep in mind that heaven is in the presence of God and hell is separation and isolation from God.
Rich people are going to heaven 💯
