Genesis 19 is an account of the judgement of God against Sodom and Gomorra. The interlude in between the first half (developing Sodom’s regret) and the second half (God’s just wrath) of the chapter is a lovely picture of the mercy of God extended to and through the righteous in the midst of his judgement.
