Do electrical automobiles truly assist the environment? President Obama thinks so.
The argument goes like this:
Regular automobiles run on gas, a fossil fuel that pumps CO2 straight out of the tailpipe and into the environment. Electric cars and trucks run on electrical energy. No gas; no CO2.
More than a 3rd of the life time carbon-dioxide emissions from an electric vehicle comes from the energy utilized make the car itself, particularly the battery.
