Let’s discuss among the most emotionally charged topics there is– abortion– however in an unemotional way. Also, let’s not touch on the question that a lot of preoccupies discussion of the subject– whether abortion needs to be legal or prohibited. The only question here is the moral one: Is ending the life of a human fetus– ethical?

Let’s start with this concern: Does the human fetus have any worth and any rights? Now, it’s a scientific fact that a human fetus is human life. Those who argue that the human fetus has no rights say that a fetus is not a person.

When challenged with this argument, people normally alter the subject to the rights of the mother– meaning the right of a mother to end her fetus’s life under any circumstance, for any factor, and at any time in her pregnancy. Is that ethical? It is just if our company believe that the human fetus has no intrinsic worth. In a lot of cases, nearly everybody believes that the human fetus has basically limitless worth and a practically outright right to live. When? When a pregnant woman wishes to give birth. Society– and its laws– relate to the fetus as so important that if somebody were to kill that fetus, that person might be prosecuted for murder.
